This is a fascinating place to stay. The western style rooms are good size, although there are Japanese style rooms which I didn't see. The hotel facilities are good, everything is very clean, and the hot springsbaths are fantastic. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay, with excellent food and service.

It was about a year after the disaster which hit this area. We were informed that the day we visited was just the renewal open day, which we had not heard of before we arrived. Therefore, the hotel staff graciously welcomed us. We were hungry because we had enjoyed the hawaiians, a well-known spa resort, but arrived a little late. We felt a little sorry that we were late for checking in, dominating the cafeteria room, and even enjoying a perfectly prepared dinner did not expect such good services because we missed the dead line for the supper... We had a good chat with the staff who served us the delicious food quickly. She stated that the day we visited was just the reopen day and that deep-fried greenies, which had been caught in this region and known before the earthquake, came from a very distant location that was not affected by radio activity. She added that all food was safe. As I mentioned before, that that day was the first day for the hotel after the disaster. The hot spring in the structure was large and clean. You feel a little cold if you come in the winter. But it is nonetheless worthwhile to walk. There was a pleasant atmosphere. I tried it in the morning. Throughout the Christmas and New Year, we visited this Roman since we are American citizens. It was wonderful. We had a private entrance corner room. Although there were only two of us, the room was substantial enough for four or five people. We rode the train from Tokyo to the train station without too much difficulty. The food was excellent. The experience was excellent. It is no problem if you can't speak Japanese like we do. They do whatever they can to improve their proficiency in English. It always works, even if you need an ipad for translating! I would definitely return to this hotel.
