During the ski season in february, we stayed here. Advantages include a free shuttle from the train station, friendly staff, easy access to the ski area and lifts, and a spotless room. The disadvantages include the spread out nature of the room, making for a lot of walking. There is a simple and nothing special breakfast buffet. I also heard a low-dinging sound in my bedroom, especially at night. We informed the personnel of this, but they responded, No, there was no noise coming from that floor. I'm sorry! I heard it each night and brought it up again with the staff, and they promised to look into it. Still, I haven't heard back from them.

Recently, we stayed for two nights and had a great time. The hotel room, which was not in the tower, was reasonably spartan but kept immaculate. It is a great exercise area with a private shower area. However, we did not visit the spa. The food was excellent, at least for dinner at the French restaurant, which was really excellent and had an excellent wine selection, and at the Japanese restaurant, which was really nice but not overly surprising. Service was excellent at the hotel in general. There is skiing excellent there because we had plenty of snow, maybe too much on the first day, but it was perfectly sunny on the second day. My main complaint is that most of the higher runs start with black before turning red. Also, they don't indicate which exit is for the expert run or the beginner run, which ends on a side of the mountain. Some people may go out the wrong door and unexpectedly wind up on a black slope, which is pretty scary on a day of low visibility day. I suppose it's a bit common, but many of the green slopes are very flat for extended periods. The crowd was mostly families in the hotel, with mostly young and elderly men on the slopes. Lots of people seem to want to ride the gondola by themselves, which makes for a very long line at times, and the staff does not try to discourage that
