My friend and I stayed here for one night in february 2014. Booked their Japanese style marionette which consists of a japanese style living room, two single beds on the first floor, and a large bath on the second floor. The hotel lobby and dining room had a different feel due to its more westernized look, but the place was really pretty and we fell in love with the interior design of the place. The hotel offers pickup from the railway station and we took that up as it was a short drive from nikki station. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the room was really comfortable. The boxspring water bath was located in the main building and was extremely energizing in the cold weather and helped soothe tired bones from travelling. Since it was during winter, we had fun playing with the snow on the hotel grounds. However, the staff gently reminded us to be careful because the accumulated snow was hard, almost like ice. Dinner and breakfast were very delicious and we had dinner in the dining room with live piano music. One of their dishes had a small cup of mesh plum wine but my friend doesn't drink alcohol so the staff gladly changed it into a cup of apple juice.
