Great hotel with an excellent location and a wonderful breakfast buffet. One of the reception staff members, an older gentleman with glasses, was especially helpful and made a great impression. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for his name. On the other hand, one of the middle-aged ladies at the reception seemed to be in a bad mood and was not as welcoming. However, this did not significantly affect my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Staffs are very helpful and have great suggestion for luggage transfer, off-site laundry, etc. The hotel location also makes this place the highlight of our Japan trip.

Travelled with my 14 y/o daughter and 20 y/o niece. We all ranked this hotel #1. We stayed in a total of 4 hotels, ranging from 3 - 5 star. This hotel even beat our Mira Costa Disneysea hotel which only prevailed if we were only judging the convenience to the Disneysea park itself! Otherwise, Cross Hotel Kyoto has better bathrooms and especially toilet; Cross Hotel Kyoto has great coffee in- room and downstairs at their lobby. Mira Costa has instant coffee that tasted like brown water! Location to stores for shopping, bakeries and restaurants is definitely a plus! Hotel was very convenient when we forwarded our luggage to Tokyo hotel. We highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay at the Cross Hotel Kyoto. The staff was super friendly snd spoke great English, and our family room was spacious and very clean. The hotel was perfectly located being close to transit, shopping, restaurants, and historical areas. Of all the hotels we stayed in while visiting Japan, this was by far our favorite, and for a great price too!

The hotel's location could not be better. I especially liked how it is right near the river, along which we took pleasant walks every day. The room we stayed in was terrific. Spacious, well laid out, and quiet. The beds, and bedding, were very comfortable. Also loved the ofuro (deep soaking tub) in the room. But, above all, the staff were simply marvelous. They were all kind, capable, and full of suggestions about what to do with our time in Kyoto. And they even continued to be helpful after we left Kyoto. Let me explain. The day my wife and I left the US for Japan, we heard from our bank that they had detected fraud on our credit card and that they would have to issue us new credit cards. We arranged to have them sent to the Cross Hotel. But there were delays in the delivery of the cards. The staff kept us notified until they received the cards today (five days after we left Kyoto) and will post them to the address were we are staying in the Japan Alps. The next time we're in Kyoto, we will be sure to stay at the Cross Hotel. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

We traveled around Japan for over two weeks and the cross had my far the best/most comfortable bed and an amazing shower. Two very important things to me. Hotel was modern, clean, and had a decent sized room and bathroom for Japan. No iron in the room, restaurant had decent breakfast, but wasn’t open any other time of day. Perhaps all to be expected with star ratting of hotel. All that said, would stay here again!

Super clean and very helpful staff that speak perfect English. Great location, close to trains and everything you want to see in Kyoto. Taxis via Uber arrive in a few minutes. Tons of dining options all around.
