Early in the evening, after it had poured, we landed at the view palace hotel. A standard Japanese hotel with a friendly and calm employee assisted visitors into an average hotel room gave their initial impressions. The restaurant's dinner consists of french-themed dishes. A pleasant choice for a single night, but a repeated stay could be very uncomfortable. The beginning was excellent. Sadly rainy, but small, and clean, it is open to the chilly night. The following morning was brilliant and sunny. The plains below are visible from our hotel room balcony, and we were able to appreciate it from a walk through the hotel grounds. The view palace hotel goes above and beyond because of its location and setting.

To reach this hotel, which is situated on a hillside with mountains in the distance, you must cross a few local roads. There are nice sunrises and sunsets, but the sun can be quite bright shining into the space. Instead of the traditional japanese kiseki, this onset motel offers multicourse french dinners. Excellent cuisine with a matching wine and sake selection. Although you cannot enter your kata, dining is done in a pleasant dining room. Breakfast consists of excellent western and Japanese dishes. Although I didn't try it, some people enjoy curry rice. Although the hallways appear a little worn, the rooms are tastefully decorated with beds and private bathrooms in a western style. For access to the public bath, there is kata. Wood and stone make the baths both indoor and outdoor, though the indoor space is a little cramped. If there are a couple of people using the facilities at once, it can feel crowded. It is best to bring a vehicle if you want to travel. There are three sites that are relatively near by and are relatively close together. One is Shikanoyu public bath, where you can soak in an oldstyle wooden bathhouse with a series of baths from about 40 to scalding 48 degrees. The nasa end shrine, a small shrine with
