I was in Anita for a very short time, and after leaving my hotel reservation quite late, this was one of the few choices. The hotel is around a 15-minute walk from Anita Station. I found it a little hard to find at night, and the distance from the station was rather dark. First impressions were mixed. This is not a hotel with many western visitors. I chose not to eat in the hotel at all so I can't comment on the food. The reception area is large but outdated. Lockers on the right as you enter to store your shoes after you remove them on the way in. As expected in Japan, receptionists were very courteous and efficient. They spoke a little English to compensate for my poor Japanese and made me feel very welcome. Clientele are mostly Japanese businessmen. My room was on the fourth story. The price was comparable to those in Tokyo for modern efficient 3 star hotels, but the decor and size were far inferior to Tokyo. The room was well equipped, but it was extremely old and in desperate need of decoration. The bathroom was similar and even very small by Japanese standards. Large flat screen and pay for, but I didn't use them once more because my stay was brief. It was a good shower and rest after dinner and drinks. So in essence, functional, not as clean as I expect for Japanese standards, but a rustic western style hotel that

We had only spent one night there, but we were very pleased with the facilities and proximity to shops and eateries. Although the hotel was very busy over a major holiday weekend, the staff went above and beyond to make us as welcome as possible. Kate, and an English-speaking employee, were there to assist us, which was a plus for us. He listened to all of our questions and made sure we knew everything we required to make using the hotel, onset, and facilities as enjoyable as possible. We even had dinner at the restaurant. My stay was excellent in every way. Given that Japanese rooms are typically very small, the room was big. The onset offered many options, so we took full advantage of visiting both at night and during the day. The internet connection was great, which was a plus because I had work to finish while we were there.

We had to remove our shoes at the door so all the workers could also take off their shoes. Clean, comfortable bed, good size room considering the average cost of Japan. If you don't speak Japanese, you'll only get a small out even at the reception. Please find a suki who speaks English. Here, everything is like Japan 30 years ago, when Japanese was the only option.

The staff spoke a very little english, but they went out of their way to communicate with friendly good humour using their limited English and our very bad Japanese. It was a bit far from the station, especially at night in the snow.
