Host was completely gracious and accommodating, and incredibly kind. Location is a touch remote if you're unused to walking, but the Host can give you a ride free of charge. The views from the hostel are breathtaking, particularly at morning and the in the evenings, and the quiet at night is serene. I cannot recommend this place enough, I plan on going back myself. The only possible complaint I have, is that it gets fairly chilly in the winter-but that's easy to compensate for. Please visit!

２泊3日の旅で初めて利用させて頂きました。オーナーさんは常に、ゲストのために動きっぱなしで、すごく気が回られる方です。英語も堪能で、共同キッチンも非常に使いやすいです。是非また泊まらせて頂きたいです。

Guesthouse Wasabi was a perfect stay for Iki! Central location, right by Ashibe port on Iki island. Before arriving we hadn't really planned out how we might travel around Iki and hadn't appreciated that public transport may be quite limited, not to worry though as the owner of Guesthouse Wasabi (Takuya) jumped straight to the rescue having electric bikes or vehicles that you could rent, we opted for some electric bikes and spent one of our best days in Japan cycling across Iki island to Monkey Rock. As Guesthouse Wasabi is at the top of a pretty steep hill Takuya also went above and beyond picking us up from or taking us to the nearby port, shops and restaurants when needed. When the weather took a turn (severe rain) and I was keen to still visit Kojima shrine Takuya even helped us out by dropping us over there at low tide! We stayed in the twin room which was really spacious and had a beautiful view over the port! Takuya really makes this a wonderful guesthouse stay, would gladly stay here again!

Aside from the stunning views of the harbor and city, the harbor and the entrance hall, which was decorated with origami flags, were the nicest parts of the hostel for me. A fully functional kitchen and a sizable bathroom are both present. The bed is cozy and helps you feel secure, and the bedroom has a great outlook. Because of the location, I was reluctant to visit iki Island, but I'm delighted I did. To save money, you should take the jetfoil or the common ferry. When you ride to the hostel, you can begin to experience the breathtaking vistas of the harbor and the city center. If you plan to take a scooter around the island, I will never forget your time at iki Island or your time spent on Ikoku Island. You will never forget how beautiful this island is. If you intend to drive the island, I suggest bringing a windbreaker and an international driver's license. The restaurant features a spacious bathroom with a fully equipped kitchen. The bed in the bedroom is cozy, and there is a wonderful view that I can appreciate. I was able to observe and then taste a lot of delicious and exotic seafood at a nearby sushi restaurant. The island has many attractions, but perhaps its unique advantage is to have the opportunity to take in the incredible scenery that I have never experienced in my life, along with the ocean'

My stay at island hostel wasabi was one of the many highlights of my trip in Japan. Iki is an undiscovered treasure of the ocean, hidden by a calm, rural environment. Takuyasan made our stay unforgettable in every way. He was very friendly and helpful. His charming Japanese-style property was pristine and cozy. Even if we only stayed for a night, he made sure we saw as much as we could and took us around his island, explaining everything. I recommend 100 the Wasabi hostel as you will surely have a great time there. Thanks so much!
