I think this is the right option if you want a full-service hotel with good hospitality from the staff. The hotel looks like a well-maintained old hotel. It's a Japanesestyle hotel with tatami and futon inside, spacious room but lacks standard hotel service. The receptionist does not speak English. Although not rude, I think they could have been nicer at least smiling. They do have private entrance inside that we can book for 3100 yen for 50 minutes ideally suitable for two people. They do have a restaurant but during my stay there we didn't try it because of the expensive dinner and breakfast price. Oh yes, the room fee does not include breakfast. So if you don't mind walking 15 minutes from the station, I know it will be hard for people who come from a country who is not used to walking everywhere, this is an acceptable hotel. The price is not that cheap, but in my experience it can be shared up to 3 people without an additional cost.

Despite being close by, the service is adequate by western standards, though it isn't as stellar as it is by the standard high Japanese standards. Only spent one night in Nikita, though it's worthwhile to spend two nights there. The accommodation was fairly roomy in the beginning. If you don't eat here, it's a reasonable 12 am walk to a place to eat for supper. Although there may be a bus stop nearby, the Nikita bus service is not very frequent. There is WiFi in the lobby, but it is free.

We had trouble trying to ask the receptionist for anything because we didn't speak much Japanese. They provided a private onset and can use that to hire a private onset for 3100 yen or take you back and forth to a sister hotel for public onset for 500 yen. We could not speak Japanese. But this place didn't provide a smile and no english.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was large and tidy. The mattresses on the floor were very firm. There was no cleaning of the rooms while we were there, such as removing trash and making beds etc. But it was a very inexpensive stopover. It was a decent budget stopover, but I don't think we would return because it is at least two trains from the shrines of Nikki and there is no place really to eat nearby. For the evening, we just purchased some snacks from the nearby 711. It is a weird, unusual location, but in the general, it's normal. Nikki itself is an immense place, and I'm glad we've been here, but there are far better places to visit in Japan than here.
