I would stay there again with confidence because the price is fair. The hotel is across the street from the canal. The winter light festival is celebrated from the hotel. It was also a short walk to Sacaimachi shopping street and otaku train station. The room was spacious, unusual for Japan. The door to the room was small. I had to be careful not to bump my head in. The bathroom was a little odd. It was clean but the sink and mirror were lowered. Not ideal for taller western visitors.

We stayed here for 2 nights to explore Okataku. We got a view of Okataku Canal, it was the most beautiful view ever. It was in a wonderful location. Close to the convenience shop, there are many restaurants around the hotel. The hotel itself was excellent, with both a breakfast buffet and a fine dinner. When we heard strange sounds at night, the receptionist arrived really quickly. We can't wait until Covid 19 is gone. Then we can come back to visit.

I will return again. The room is small for Japanese standards, comfortable, clean, and European in style. We had lunch at their restaurant which served mostly Japanese cuisine. It was really good and the price was very affordable. Otaku Canal is just a one-minute walk from the hotel! It has a public bath, but we didn't use it.

Although the hotel has a large lobby with European decoration and furniture including a fake fire place, the room is very outdated we probably got the room in the old wing with the very old chest of drawers cupboard. The pillows are also very small and hard, not comfortable at all to sleep on. The saving grace is we booked a canal view room that overlooks the beautiful canal in the snowy winter. The heating in the room is also a welcome refuge from the harsh cold winter air outside. This hotel has an in-house onset and charges 150 yen per adult regardless if you use it or not. The price is very reasonable, and after days out in the freezing cold winter it is really a pleasure to soak in the heated large onset pool. Even though the hotel is walking distance to the otaku or train station, it is still a good 1520 minutes walk and having to lug luggage on the slick icy floor is not easy. But the famous otaku canal and some nearby restaurants are only a stones throw away. Be aware that the hotel staff can't speak English well, making it difficult to communicate our needs. Even though we arrived early in the morning from the airport and had jet lag, they also follow the book and didn't allow us to check in sooner.

The location is ideal as it is close to the train station and overlooking the canal. The small rooms are clean and cozy with a view of the canal. The restaurant is excellent but must order by the place itself. The start was decent with a view of the canal.
