This is a small boutique hotel with spacious Japanese style rooms, excellent start, and delicious meals when breakfast and dinner are available. The buddhist temples and the famous floating Shino shrine are all around you, and the peaceful and serene atmosphere is very different from the many, many tourists visiting every day to see the free-loading deer, the many shops and restaurants, and the shino shrine floating. I wholeheartedly endorse the hotel kikunoya!.

A small hotel in a fantastic position. Walk to the shrine and through the lovely Momijidani park to the ropeway. There is also an outdoor footbath, a cafe, where you may enjoy a drink while soothing your feet after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. Both a restaurant and a functional beginning. The staff was quite accommodating with our future reservations and got us to the ferry terminal before the scheduled time so we could catch an early ferry. Excellent value for the money.

I arrived late on my arrival day, and the staff said they would lock the door at 11:30 am. Honestly, it took about 20 minutes to walk from the ferry terminal to the hotel. I later discovered that they offer a free shuttle service. Anyway, the staff at the reception and in the dining room were very friendly, and the room was good. Everything was clean as expected, and a small miyajima souvenir is ready to be eaten. The bath area was small and clean, as was the air in general on that island. After checking in, you receive a kata and the key to your room. One thing I felt sorry for was that the staff worked until 24 00 pm, just to start working again at 5 a. M. Thats not inconvenient. As a result, the email I had earlier sent about changing rooms was overseen. I'm not raged, however, because I arrived late. But for Gods sake, let the staff at least get some rest during the shifts lol.

We really liked our stay at the hotel Kikunoya. We were kindly taken from the ferry terminal and returned for free. The helpful and kind staff led us to our room and explained how everything worked. Our standard twin was more than adequate with nighters and toiletries provided. Never tried the first time, but it appeared to be a lot of guests who did. Breakfast was quite adequate and a nice touch, the only included breakfast during our trip to Japan. Thetori Gate and Main Street as it are are a 5-minute walk away, and the pick-up point to the ropeway is just around the corner. Dinner would be worth considering on a future stay because the island has so few options in the evening.

This hotel is excellent! Starting, foot bath, breakfast, and customer service were the best. My family thought this was the best hotel we stayed at while in Japan. It's a bit of an uphill walk so you might want to call the hotel and they will pick you up at the ferry station. The robes, travelled packs, and nightly snacks were above what anyone could have expected.
