I had a great time during my stay in japan, so i decided to stay another night there! The staff was friendly and pleasant to chat with, the two cats were adorable, and the other guests were also friendly. All facilities are spotless and wellequipped. A shared kitchen, cozy beds, beautifully decorated. Excellent selection of local attractions. The bar offers incredibly affordable prices, featuring dozens of beers and some international favorites. I cant say enough good things about this place. When ill eventually return to jap, ive got yay again.4,8/523 Feb 2024

One of the best hostels ive ever stayed at in japan! Everything is adorable and catthemed, and the cats are absolutely adorable. The atmosphere is really laid back and inviting. Excellent craft beer is served at the bar, which is wellkept, while the hostel is spotless. You are given a welcome drink! Both the owner and staff are quite kind. This was my first time visiting japan for my friend and me. The house has a homey feel to it. Every day, i have supper with mr. Kogo, the friendly older sister, waiting for us. However, we still want to travel. We travel from dawn to dusk. Our room was immaculate. There is no musty odor at all. Each day in the living room, maru and kogo are two small employees who welcome us with open arms. I hope you guys are having ok. See you again. Traveling will be simple because the bus stop is right in front of the house. A family store is directly next to our house so if ive not been starving, im not starve.4,8/519 Mar 2023

The next time i visit osaka, ill undoubtedly return. Mad cat is one of my alltime favorite hostels ive ever stayed at! I chose it because of the cats and the social atmosphere, and he wasnt let down. It was a great time with other travelers even during typhoons. Rieko and Yoshi do an excellent job keeping the hostel spotless and creating ambiance for everyone. As retrained backpacker herself, she knows what travelers value most and beautifully designed the hotel. Super comfy beds, spotlessly clean showers, nice craft beer at the bar, as well as chilly communal space. The location was convenient, it was simple to walk to ubud, main shopping area, transportation, or convenience stores just outside the door. I cant forget the adorable cats, cogo, maru, who have already left them behind.4,6/523 Agt 2024

We started our trip in japan at mad cat and it couldnt have been better! Immediately felt like home, the owner Rieko makes you feel as if youre staying with lifelong friends. You may book or go here for the cats Kogo and maru, but you wont want to leave because of the warm and friendly atmosphere and conversation. One of honestly the best places to stay! Rieko and Yoshi were the most amazing hosts, they made us feel very welcome and provided great recommendations for various places in osaka! The cats were also amazingly friendly and wellbehaved. This is a great place to stay near all the main tourist attractions. The room is clean and comfortable, with friendly people and an added bonus of two adorable cats. I would honestly return to this hostel a thousand times! The owner and staff are incredibly kind and attentive to everything. I felt at ease here! They have oodles of fun and go above and beyond to make me feel at home! There is tastier bar where you can meet new people, they gave me hugs with booze, and they advised me on many activities in osaka. The room is large and spotless, the bathroom and common areas are ideal! Its proprietor is really adorable! Thank you.4,6/530 Jul 2023

This place is absolutely fantastic! The owner and staff are incredibly helpful and can offer advice on exploring osaka! They have two cats, kogo and maru, who are the worlds most adored cats! Always willing to welcome you with open arms for pets or just lounging around the hostel. My perception of hostels as a whole has been destroyed by this hostel, and i dont believe any other hostel can compare to it. Ill definitely stay at mad cat again when ive come back to okosaki!.4,6/58 Jul 2023

I had a great time and would definitely return. Come for the cats and stay for people (and still the dogs! Rieko and her cats, maru and kogo, were excellent hosts, and the other staff members were also very friendly and helpful. The hostel has symbiosis to it, with spotless rooms and showers that have just been renovated. You also receive onsite some really fantastic restaurants, as well as dribble welcome drink each night at their bar. If you want to connect with other travelers, mad cat is the ideal hostel. It was wonderful to meet new people and go out for dinner, drinks, or karaoke. My partner and we had an amazing time during our stay and will definitely be back.4,6/529 Mei 2023

This place is unbeatable! Dont miss out on this location! I cant say enough good things about this place. This is the best hostel ive ever been to. So many hostels are just checkin and checkout ordeals. Rieko and Yoshi are very friendly and make every effort to encourage socializing in the hostel. Every other guest i met was amazing. Overall, such warm vibes and good times that ill always remember. The mattresses are comfortable, the place itself is immaculate, and you get free drinks every night! This place is absolutely fantastic, with incredibly kind employees and adorable cats. I couldnt recommend this place more to anyone looking for a laidback and relaxing stay that wont break the bank. Reiko was amazing, very friendly, and eager to offer suggestions for the area. We felt at home, which was rearranged for our hotel stays. Clean and wellkept location near osaka food specials. The bar was also excellent. It can get quite noisy on weekends and be quite busy, but that shouldnt be an issue. Thank you for being able to stay with you.4,6/52 Feb 2023

This location is a mustvisit if you enjoy cats. One of the coziest and warmest hostel environments ive ever been to! Its the ideal location to make new friends while exploring osaka because there are several nearby attractions and taverns close by. This place has a magical area around it thanks to the amazing owner. The facility has very comfortable and warm atmosphere and is equipped with all the necessary services. This place is definitely worth visiting if you want to meet new people from around the world and/or like cats! This experience receives a score of 10 out of 5. See the cats in the photos, they are indeed present! Kogo is the black one, while maru enjoys going around town. Kogolo enjoy sleeping in varying areas of the hostel while enjoying jogging around. The staff is extremely friendly, and you can often join them for dinner, celebrations, or errands. Every night at the bar, there is idly welcomed drink that is free, where you may interact with both locals and foreigners. Dont worry unless it is too early or late to be at this bar because you still have the opportunity to interact directly with the staff (cats included) and guests in your living room.
