A lovely ryokan is located in a peaceful area. The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff was very accommodating. However, the streetlight right in front of my window was not very bright at night, even though the window had been designed to prevent it. I will suggest it to anyone staying in kyoto. A very nice hotel decorated in the japanese style. Excellent service and friendly personnel. Rooms with garden views are cozy. Jr station is only a 10minute walk away. Nearby the tower of khima.5,0/515 Jun 2023

Hello, i am writing this review on my way back to south korea. From the moment we arrived at the ryokan at 11.00 am, we asked if they could keep our luggage until checkin. They not only kept our stuff but also showed us around the building including our room, even though it wasnt cleaned yet. The staff were all very kind, spoke good english, and most importantly, they always welcomed us. If you want to experience japanese culture, the rooms are clean and comfortable. You can choose your breakfast in western or japang style, which we had in jalapesian style and was a comfort meal. We highly recommend this roogan and hope to see you again.4,8/528 Mar 2024

We had a great time at matsubaya ryokan. After our 26hour day of travel, the staff was fantastic and spoke perfect english. They were able to stay open 15 minutes late because we were in touch. The room itself was incredibly enjoyable. It was quite cozy and warm in the futon. As long as you didnt emerge from the shower wet, towels were adequate. Our favorite aspect was the breakfasts. We stayed for five nights and never had the exact same meal combination. Japanese or western were the two options. Since thats why i am here, ive only ever ordered the japanese. If you are extremely picky, it appeared fine for the western breakfast, but if you cant stretch your legs out, you should avoid using them. Kyoto station is only ten minutes walk away, which opens up countless day trips. Gion and the imperial palace are also not difficult to reach on foot. Overall, my experience was excellent, and ill appreciate the level of service they provided.4,8/527 Feb 2024

Im in love with this hotel and with kyoto! My February stay at matsubaya ryokan was an amazing experience in terms of traditional japanese hospitality. The rieso Kans timeless charm, from the tatami mat rooms to the soothing aroma of tarami and warm wood, provided a tranquil retreat in the heart of Kyoto. Japanese hospitalitys skill was demonstrated by the exquisite tea service and delicious kaiseki dinner. A private onsen provided some relaxation, and the lovely garden views added to overall peace. Matsuba Ryoken is id never forget, if you want to have lingering and culturally diverse experience while visiting kaohs. I was utterly disappointed when i left after checking out because my decision was so terrible. Maybe someone can explain why ive been giving this ryokan a 5star rating. I should have spent more than three or four days in this location. If ill get another chance to visit kyoto, if he does, well return and stay there! The location is ideal! Higashihonganji is only ten minutes away by foot, while kiyomizudera is 20 minutes distant, and chijoko station is just tucked away. The staff members ives ever encountered were the friendliest! Breakfast appeared to be made with homemade japanese, simple but delicious! Anyone who happens to know which rice cooker the rokon uses? I want to purchase it. Room and other rooms - Having stayed in reserving rooms of the traditional style was enjoyable. Extremely warm and spotless. Nothing to complain about. Perfect for me!.4,8/56 Jan 2024

The hotel is excellent, the staff is friendly, and it is immaculate. I adored this hotel. We had a traditional bed and were worried that it would be too firm, but it was just right. It was fantastic all around. The only little letdown was that they shared couple plates. Im not sure why, as we had service plates and cups that could be used as plates instead.4,8/55 Jan 2024

This place is a beautiful, straightforward traditional japanese house in an ideal location. It exceeded our expectations. Everything was in dated style but in excellent condition, and the inn was close to all the fantastic sites in central kyotos north east. I would definitely stay here again.4,8/510 Des 2023

The service was excellent. We were so happy we spent one night there because it was a wonderful experience. Although ryokans are pricey, this one was quite affordable. The tatami mats were really cozy and cozy. It was nice to be able to stay another night. For only 880 yen, we took ion private salt bath, which was relaxing. This was a great place to stay for an introduction to ryokan and kyoto. The staff were amazing and helped us with reservations, getting around, and getting settled into our stay. I had a great time here. It was cozy and warm. I spent four nights there. The personnel were really polite and kind. For our group, the majority of the personnel spoke some english, which was very helpful. Rollup mattresses on the mats in our room accommodated three people. We wanted to take it home because the bedding was so soft and fluffy. Cleanliness was maintained throughout the bathroom. Both the western and japanese breakfasts were excellent. The hotel is old and in need of renovation. Our room, number 402, had a strong moldy food odor and needed to be thoroughly cleaned. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. There is onsite hot spa, comfortable futons, stylish and trendy kimonos in the rooms, plus i can wear them around the hotel.4,6/516 Jun 2024

The hotel is not far from kyoto station. It is a hotel built in the japanese style. There is no problem in english, and the front desk clerk will give you reprehensible explanations of various things when you check in. At the reception, there is an online rental service. I borrowed chopsticks and spoons from the convenience store because the grocery store didnt have them. You can watch tv in this spacious room. Although the quilt is sufficiently thick, the air conditioner isnt very effective at heating. For your consumption, senbei and chasm bags are provided.4,6/525 Feb 2024

I only reserved one night and wished i had stayed longer! The traditional room was amazing and very comfortable, the small pond with fish and the photo corner with typical umbrellas and catana are a great idea to entertain guests. Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to try breakfast, but we will definitely do so next time. The staff is so kind and helpful, we really felt at home.Fasilitas Populer
