Amazing experience. From the moment we arrived to our list 5 min. We were greeted by Seth, he helped us with the check in process (spoke English big plus after tons for travel). Our room was available early, so we were able to check in earlier than expected.. we fully expected to drop our bags off and go. But favor shined upon us this day. The room was wonderful as well, having a bunk and 2 twins for us allowed us all to have a bed bed. The layout of the room is smart and convenient. Having a mini fridge and stove was great for mid meal in room snacks. The hotel allows you to borrow apple TV for the room. The location is fantastic, we were able to get to shopping and a ton of delicious restaurants, cafes, bakeries, convenience store. Can't say enough good things about this place. Will definitely return.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The location was excellent and the room was perfect for 4 adults (Japanese deluxe). The washer/dryer was a godsend too - and it worked really well if you didn’t overstuff it (detergent provided too). The best however, was the GM who jumped in to assist when my husband hurt his foot and we needed to find both a wheelchair and a clinic early one morning. They actually had a rental on site (!) and called ahead to a hospital to help us get an appointment an hour later. In an emergency medical situation, her excellent English and willingness to translate back & forth was very much appreciated. What an amazing experience- highly recommend this place! Oh, and a convenience store is on the same block so the kids enjoyed many a post-dinner ice cream run. The wine bar down the street was a nice swap for traditional food.

We stayed in a Pokemon theme room. They thought of every detail. The kids LOVED it. The space was clean and a good size, with laundry in room. Also a short walk to several train stations and good food.

Great place to stay with our two teens. We really appreciated the extra space the apartment offered, the bunk beds for the kids, and the washing machine (although it was tiny and took hours to complete a load). The beds were comfortable, and the shower and bath area was lovely. We even cooked breakfast in our room one morning on the cooktop. I especially liked the complimentary hotel pajamas, and it was nice to be able to borrow umbrellas when it rained. The area was nothing special, but it was only two stops from Kyoto Station and easy to access most things from there. We could walk to the Nishiki Market area and Nijo Castle, but it was a haul in both directions. Overall highly recommend Mimaru, especially if traveling with kids.

We absolutely loved the Mimaru Shinmachi Sanyo! Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well appointed - best part was having washer & dryer in the room!! Great location close to Nishiki market (about 10-12 min walk away) and subway (Karasuma Oike, about 5-7 min away). Staff at the front desk were lovely and helpful with pointing us in the right direction. We were 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids ages 10-13), so got the connecting room which was perfect. We loved the charming neighborhood, tons of restaurants, bakeries and cafes nearby and would 100% stay here again!

Chambre équipée de tout ce dont on a besoin pour séjourner quelques jours, prendre ses repas si on ne souhaite pas aller au restaurant, d’une propreté parfaite, avec lave linge et sèche linge dans le petit appartement. La lessive est fournie. L’emplacement est idéal au centre de Kyoto, ce qui permet de faire beaucoup d’activités à pied pour ceux qui aiment marcher pour découvrir la ville, et les petites échoppes et artisants encore présents aux alentours. Près également du métro et des bus principaux pour aller visiter les temples plus éloignés du centre. La taille de la chambre familiale est parfaite pour 3 personnes (elle peut en accueillir 4).

Our stay at Mimaru Kyoto Shinmachi Sanjo was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for our family of 4, including two teenagers, which can be difficult to find when traveling in Kyoto. We especially appreciated having a small kitchen and dining area, which made it easy to unwind after long days of sightseeing. The location was excellent, close to multiple train and subway stations, convenience stores, and many great restaurants, while still being tucked away on a quiet street. It was easy to get to popular areas such as Nishiki Market, Gion, Nijo Castle, and Arashiyama. We also loved being near the Kamo River, which made for a beautiful morning running route on its walkway. The only thing to note is that the laundry dryer setting takes a very long time, so do not expect a quick turnaround if you plan to wash clothes. It is best to start a load overnight or in the morning before heading out for the day. The staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to help answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay at Mimaru Kyoto Shinmachi Sanjo again.

The hotel location was excellent - close to the station and pretty central to the the key shrines, market and great food. Like all hotel rooms in Japan the rooms were small, but the amenities were nice and the rooms were clean and set up in a way to provide efficient use of space. We are a family of four - 2 teenagers in tow, so rooms with four beds were hard to find. Above all the staff were friendly and helpful. I received great recommendations for a vintage kimono shop and tea ceremony, both under a 10 minute walk away. Staff asked for my feedback upon my return. Kudos to Ola, who helped me figure out how to use the Japanese post office - she even came with me to translate to ensure I was able to send my package. It was a great experience and I would stay with this hotel and this brand again.

Room: clean, fully equipped, compact and smart. It is so lovely that the room is cleaned and towels are replaced everyday, while the bed linen and pillowcase are replaced every two days. Staff: friendly, helpful and very responsive. Excellent service from them.
