The staff at Mustard Hotel were consistently kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. The location is perfect, surrounded by great local shops and amazing food spots. One of my favorite parts was the coffee shop and bar connected to the hotel — I ended up going there almost every day during my stay. Easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Tokyo, and I’ll definitely continue staying at Mustard whenever I visit.

Loved this place. Location is excellent and then hotel generally has a really nice vibe. The on site coffee shop and bar are both great and do amazing drinks. The rooms are basic but perfectly serviceable. Showers are hot and powerful. Beds are comfortable and amenities available. Only issues we had were that our room wasn’t cleaned as we were advised it would be halfway through our stay. We raised twice with reception but unfortunately it never happened. Despite this, I’d really recommend this place particularly as Shimokitazawa is such an amazing area of Tokyo.

Rooms on each occasion I have stayed there have been great, this has been three times in the last 12 months. As the corridors are communal and being lighter in colour there is some discolouration, it is just carpet.

Reasonably priced hotel in a cool area. Easy train connection to Shinjuku. Breakfast bagels are excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. The laundry was a bonus.

Perfectly located if you want to explore the Shimikitazawa area, music/arts scene. There is also a train station close by for easy travel to Shinjuku. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and quiet. Rooms come with a record player and the lobby has a vast selection of records to borrow. The lobby area also has a nice coffee bar. 5 stars!!!!!

It was located in a nice family friendly area with lots of shops. 10 minute walk from the mosque and several close train stations. The morning breakfast is delicious, simple and filling a good start to the day filled with walking and exploring. Friendly staff, clean rooms, actually more spacious compared to the photos online.

Great location. Clean and comfy rooms. Lovely staff and an all round good atmosphere. It’s a perfect base in Tokyo and somewhere you’ll want to linger for a bagel in the morning and a lemon sour in the bar at night.

Sadly we were only able to stay 1 or the 2 nights we reserved at Mustard Hotel due to a flight issue. However, yesterday when we checked in everything was still arranged and ready for our arrival. The staff were amazingly kind, friendly, and courteous to us. They were even kind enough to upgrade our room to a large balcony room and gave us some breakfast tickets as well. What a lovely gesture! The room itself was very nice and spacious (from what we understand rooms can be small in Tokyo). We didn’t feel cramped or like the room was too small. Beds were very comfortable and the duvets were soft. The aircon worked perfectly and the shower was piping hot with tons of water pressure. Lastly, location of the hotel. I was a little worried it was too out of the way. But, the hotel ended up being about a 10 minute walk from many late night restaurants. All in all, what a lovely stay, too bad it was only one for 1 night. But between the lovely staff and the cool laid back vibe the hotel offers, we’ll definitely be back!
