I took the bullet train from Tokyo over the holiday weekend to spend a couple of nights at a tranquil and tranquil hot springs resort. I did my research prior to my trip, and the hotel happily picked me up by car from the station for the 30-minute drive to the motel. Checking was fast and simple and because I had one of the few single rooms, it was simple yet clean and comfortable. The motel has a great public bath, with 1 pool outside and 3 indoors, including a sauna. If you need a drink or snack, the hotel has vending machines too. The price includes a buffet breakfast with a wide variety, and the included dinner was perfect. Feel free to live in your yakuza at any location in the hotel. Activities throughout the day, you can take a nice 5-hour stroll along the river watching the many waterfalls until you reach the lake or they have a very convenient public bus. They have no wifi but do have a few work computers available for use. Before heading to the hotel, I bought a few things from the large supermarket at the main station. Calling them before hand to arrange a pickup for brunch and dinner included would be preferable if you didn't come alone.

The location is close to the bus station, but you have to climb the hill to reach the hotel or just ask the staff to come and pick you up. The staff are very friendly and willing to pick me up from the bus station and drive me towards the lake to see the sights. The room was very spacious and nice with a Japanese style bed, but no wifi, but I really enjoyed my stay.
