Hotel is very charming. The tatami matted floor and the beds on a platform and robes provided in each room make the hotel feel very boutique. Also the strawberry green tea provided in each room is delicious. Location is close to Yasaka Shrine and has plenty of nice restaurants nearby and lots of historical stores. Staff is wonderful and very helpful for advise on where to eat and with coordination of luggage delivery to and from the hotel. The one draw back is its quite far from rail transit and you will need to use the metro bus to get to a rail station to travel to other parts of Kyoto and Uji.

Our family had a great experience at OMO5. The staff was extremely helpful . The rooms were very clean spacious comfortable and the location was very convenient. We love making the breakfast bread. Would definitely stay again

Prime location in the heart of Gion, yet ultra quiet. Nice combo of traditional meets modern styling. The “make your own bread” option for breakfast was awesome. Would definitely stay here again in Kyoto- super convenient and amazing amenities!

Stayed here with our 3 kids ages 11, 9 and 3. The room was beautifully decorated and spacious. Staff provided cute pajamas for the kids and we loved the bread breakfast you make in your room! Staff were friendly and helpful. The area is very close to sight seeing opportunities and beautiful parks and shrines. We loved our early morning walking tour to the shrines complimentary from the hotel - make sure to book in advance! Thank you for a great stay!

A gorgeous room with calm, relaxing atmosphere. Great location, lots of food and sightseeing options. Staff was wonderful, great amenities (the complementary tea was so delicious we had it every day). No complaints! (And I'm a picky hotel go-er)

OMO5 was probably our favourite hotel during our Japan trip! The room was quirky & unique but clean, practical & modern. We appreciated having a big sofa in our room & the dimmable lighting throughout the bed area. Most importantly the beds were super comfortable, A/C effective & bathroom spot on. In terms of the staff, amenities & check-in/out experience everything was on point, the hotel even offered free tours/activities but we weren't able to take advantage of this. In terms of location you're right in the heart of Gion, so couldn't have been better!
