It’s an old style Japanese hostel and comparatively cheap, especially good for young people, because you have to climb a not-so-short slope from the train station .

My friend and I stayed in a private tatami room. The view of the mountains, trees, and a little bit of the town below was beautiful. The room was clean and quiet. The futon were a little thin (I have slept on many as I live in Japan), and both my friend and I had poor sleep because of it. The downstairs common areas are also very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and explained the space clearly. In the onsen, there wasn't a clear or large enough sign that you need to clean yourself before entering the bath. Unfortunately, this meant that guests who were unfamiliar with the custom entered the bath unwashed. The bath water was quite dirty. This could easily be fixed with a few large signs and explanation during the tour. The shower rooms were very clean.

Tout a été parfait, dis check-in au Check-out. Le personnel est très sympa, et l’hostel est super, des très bon niveau de service, des onsens petits mais très agréable. Proche de la gare de Yumoto (15/20 minutes à pied) ou un bus qui passe à 100 mètres et qui emmène jusqu’à la gare et/ou le lac Ashi pour la croisière en bateau pirates.

This wonderful hostel was a delightful surprise and the onsen really was an added bonus with its outer pool! With a bit of planning, you can take a local bus or use your Hakone Free Pass to be dropped off within a block of the hostel from the train station. Great staff, great accommodations and fully enjoyed my stay!

Very helpful staff. The place is located 20min walk from yumoto station. But the walk is very tiring as it is uphill. Bus access is not very good. The staff did help with reserving a cab. Everything else was amazing!

It's a great place to stay – with an outdoor and an indoor onsen! Completely traditional rooms with tamati, chabudai and futon. All rooms and of course the onsen chamber are clean – and the onsen itself is great. I loved spending a night in this property. Many thanks also to the friendly and helpful staff!

It's a great stay here, friendly staff service but a bit inconvenience as it's situated at hilly terrains, especially carrying large luggages uphill by walk on our arrival. The onzen, kitchen and pantry facilities was nice and convenient.
