The staff was so helpful to us especially when my husband got sick. The hotel manager got us a driver to take us to a nearby clinic. Without that help he would not have recovered fast enough to make our flight. The staff was so concerned and let us stay in our room past our checkout time without charging us for an extra day. We are so grateful to them for taking such good care of us. We will never forget them or what they did for us. This kind of care and service is priceless.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Baobab Sea Lodge. It is a beautiful place, with charming guest cottages that are interwoven among the network of walkways and greenery. My stay was restful and relaxing. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and attended to. I can't say enough about the way they made sure everything was absolutely perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

What an amazing stay at BSL. Wonderful beach front property with small villas. Blown away by the delicious food and attentive staff. Everyone was super nice and an extra shoutout to Joel the manager and Fred the receptionist. Fred greeted us warmly and was so kind to share tips for our stay in Kilifi, really appreciated and thanks Fred. Thank you everyone for a wonderful stay!!!!!!!

We enjoyed this great, charming hotel with it's warm, welcoming people for 8 days. Excellent service, good breakfast, good seafood/fish dishes, nice hotel area and beautiful beaches.

This hotel has amazing potential and was probably once quite grand. The facilites are tired and in need of maintenance and updates. We were there out of season so it was very quiet and the staff seemed a little challenged in knowing what to do. The beach is great and the grounds are super. I would stay here again but I’d check my room and test the shower before settling on my room.

I enjoyed the hotel ambience and tremendous and friendly customer service across all support functions. The food was great also!

It was fine, a bit old-fashioned, but friendly employees. The meal was nice, with generous seafood portions. The rooms are built in the style of the traditional huts in the area, but they function. The hotel has beachfront access, and you can walk for miles along the beach. Power went off twice for hours on end was surprised there was no generator management said it was malfunctioning, and one of the pool stairs is a health risk that almost broke my leg apparently. Not a new problem has been reported before but has not been fixed.

Baobab Sea Lodge is a charming and rustic destination. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They were unmatched in their ability to serve. Second, it's circumstances are extraordinary. The lodge's gardens tumble down to a stunning beach. You sleep in the evening listening to the sound of the ocean. The food was adequate. However, the hotel needs to be rebuilt now that the couid has faded and more tourists are coming. The gardens, in particular, haven't been maintained in a long time. The pool needs to be cleaned regularly, and the bungalows and other rooms should be painted in both the inside and outside. However, we had plenty of hot water and no complaints on the bathroom side.

I would recommend this hotel in disgrace. Excellent service from the employees, especially the gardener named Joseph, who offered us Madam out of pure will. There was enough hot water, the food was delicious, the garden area was stunning, and the pool had a view of the sea. There needs to be a bit of renovation on the faucets and the general hotel appearance. The baby high chair in the restaurant should be replaced because it is damaged and generally outdated, the baby cot needs to be repaired or the insect nest is ruined in some places.

The most comfortable stay ever, and it was surrounded by a huge garden. The beach was beautiful, endless, and without anyone. The restaurant is excellent with all the good food, including fish, seafood, lamb, beef, and chicken. We particularly appreciate the chef, Abraham Walker. He works with passion and always professionalism towards his clients. We were treated like we were in the opulent restaurant because of the excellent food and ambiance, especially at supper. We are really hoping to return because of the wonderful holiday.

The best thing about this Hotel is the location, it is right on the beach. However, it is a bit tired and rundown. The room was acceptable, but could’ve done with a refresh…. Some very basic amenities were missing, such as umbrellas to shade by the pool. The staff are lovely but seemed a bit poorly trained. Although the bar has a cappuccino machine, you couldn’t get a decent coffee at breakfast. No tonic water in the bar; I’ve never been able to not get a gin and tonic at a hotel before . I don’t think I’d stay again!

We visited the property before booking and were shown around, after which we decided on and booked a deluxe room with pool view. However, when we showed up for check in, we were taken to a another (lower category) room - without any information from the staff. We asked the staff member if this really was a deluxe room, which he insisted on it being. Turns out he lied. After we contacted the reception, we were informed that the room category we had booked was fully booked. We insisted on being compensated, so they offered a room at another hotel, a couple of km up along the beach, which we declined. Instead we suggested we’d at least be compensated with complimentary massages, which they eventually agreed to. The pool area is nice and the staff there were really attentive. The masseuses are also great! However, the sound proofing in the premier rooms (which is the one we ended up getting) is non existent. If you’re on the lower floor, you’ll be able to hear every sigh, every bathroom visit…you name it…from the guests upstairs. Unfortunately, our neighbor got home late and stayed up for the rest of the night, so we weren’t able to get any sleep. The facilities are dated but the hotel is beautifully situated. The breakfast was so-so. All in all, there are way better options for accommodation in Kilifi. (Distant Relatives and Salty’s being two of them.)

The property is quiet with good access to other places and the beach. The property had no microwave or slippers to use in the rooms. The staff seemed overworked but we're very good. I still liked the place but may not stay many nights there again
