Would unquestionably suggest staying at this location. Its reasonably priced, conveniently located within walking distance to the beach (please make sure to ask for the closest beach entry point before visiting). Additionally, there is food available at the guesthouse! The staff members were exceptionally friendly, making checking in and out easy. Additionally having a fridge in the common area for keeping your beverages chilled was incredibly convenient. The cats here were the biggest plus, with the staff serving as the main helpers.4,8/515 Jan 2024

It was a fantastic hostel! The female dorm was basically merely sanitized, but it was still essentially id stayed in. Most of the rooms, in my opinion, are in tiny homes with tiny verandas with either hanging mats, desks and chairs. The room was spotless and appeared to be fairly new, and it wasnt far from the main road or the beach. There were no curtains, little lights next to the bed, or shampoo or soap in the shower, which was the only thing missing. Apart from that, it worked out well! With all the other trips, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, as did the employees. Additionally, there are several animals roaming around, including chickens like kittens.4,6/512 Jul 2024

Geckos was a lucky find. We intended to stay for two nights but ended up staying for four. Chief assisted us with everything we needed taxis, cheap tours, and restaurant recommendations. When we were there, it truly felt like home. The rooms were clean and nice, with good air conditioning!.4,6/51 Mar 2024

This place is highly recommended. Its conveniently located, incredibly welcoming, spotless, and close to a restaurant and quaint beach. We were made to feel quite comfortable and welcomed. There are numerous cats outside, which add ambiance to the place. Additionally, there is free drinking water available, as well as soaking in iodine in the family delux room.4,6/515 Jul 2023

I had the best time staying here in langkawi! The staff were very kind and helpful when booking any trips on the island and even for further trips. The room had a good fan and everything was neat. A common area is also incredibly nice for making new friends!.4,6/55 Jun 2023

The air conditioning works well, the shower is hot, and it feels clean. However, in the dorm i was in, there was terrible wifi that went off every 5 minutes. It would have been wonderful if the beds had curtains on. Apart from that, ive enjoyed it here and would recommend it.4,4/53 Jul 2024

I had a wonderful time here. The dorm room is simple but reasonably priced, and the location is excellent! There are adorable kitties all around, with uplifting energy. Chief is incredibly kind and helpful, so i would stay there again.4,4/510 Mei 2024

I heartily suggest this location to anyone visiting langkawi! I adored the gecko guesthouse. I reserved for four nights, but ended up staying an additional three. Didnt want to go. Really laid back yet extremely social atmosphere. In the common area, it is quite simple to make friends and make plans each day. The personnel were outstanding. They are incredibly helpful and easy to work with, and they frequently hang out with the visitors. Additionally, the cuisine is excellent, in a prime location.4,4/54 Mei 2024

I had a great time here! Chief and the many kittens that were running around immediately made me feel at home. Close to some excellent, affordable restaurants, and tucked away from the main strip. There are plenty of spotless showers and toilets, as well as recomfy laundry facilities. Despite the openwindows design, there were no bugs or noise issues. The best hostel in langkawi! The location is great, all the staff are super friendly and helpful, they will help you book things, give you advice, and even pointed us towards a secret beach which, to their word, was completely empty apart from us. There is sexy, laidback atmosphere to the place, good food, comfortable small private huts, nice little cots and looks great. They even brought some kittens in after we found them in stray dogs and looked after them over the course of our stay but couldnt take them on for the rest of my travels! They have lots of cats anyway so the kittenies will be in good company if you love cats! It can be slightly noisy at times so bring earplugs unless you are able to sleep lightly. When i arrived at gecko, ill beg you to say thank you! The most welcoming atmosphere, especially thanks to chief, and the ideal location to stay while exploring the island of langkawi. The sites cats are also a big plus. You can unwind in the common area on rainy days, while on sunny days you can rent equestrian equipment and explore the islands.4,2/58 Jun 2023

On my trip, i visited langkawi three times, and stayed here three more times. I had a wonderful time here. The location is close to the beach and is surrounded by nature. My female dorm was my home, which is immaculate and spotless. It also has air conditioning. Excellent personnel are present. Im grateful to chief and own for making my stay wonderful. And the man who makes the food and works at night. Hes so delicious, im not sure his name is, but his cuisine is excellent! They always have emoji and are there to assist you with anything you need. Gecko guesthouse is conveniently located in front of pantai cenang beach and close to many restaurants. We had a great time and loved being around cats all the time! If you love cats, this is the place to be in langkawi. All the staff were very available and chief is our best local guide. He gave us so many useful tips on the island!.
