If you come here acknowledging and accepting that this hotel hasn't undergone much upgrading since its 1980s heyday, and if you are an individual who really just requires that the basics are met with no glitz, then you will have a very pleasant stay here. Actually, this hotel performs better than some other hotels nearby whilst being around 30% cheaper. The free Wi-Fi was good enough to allow uninterrupted live streaming of online movies. The TV had English language channels with a good signal. The room was spacious (though dated). The bed was comfortable. The aircon functioned well enough. The breakfast was better than you'd imagine for this price-range. The staff, super friendly and helpful.

The hotel is built in the 1960 s, so its quite affordable for the price. Everything you need, fridge, safe, tv with bbc or cnn, later not common in asia at 3 hotels. Bathrooms could be upgraded but everything worked. Short walk to the heritage area, less than 10 minutes.

Saya merasa lelah ketika berjalan dari Komtar, tetapi jika Anda datang dari Batu Ferry, Anda dapat langsung turun di depan Simpang Agrhill Road, dekat dengan Upper Penang, dan sarapannya sangat luas biasa. Staffnya ramah semua. Kemarin saya alerginya kambuh dan kebetulan hari minggu farmasi di sana tutup, tetapi staf di ruang perawatan bersama diberi pinjaman minyak herbal cina yang bisa mengurangi gatal. Terima kasih Ibu.

Saya mendapatkan harga yang cukup murah untuk menginap di hotel ini. Sebenarnya, hotel ini terletak di dekat kawasan bersejarah Georgetown. Tetapi jalan menuju hotel ini agak sepi jika sudah malam. Tapi sepanjang saya menginap, jalan pulang ke hotel pada malam hari tetap merasa aman. Jika kamar Anda termasuk dalam paket sarapan, sarapan disediakan di restoran teras lantai atas gedung hotel ini dengan tangga dan lift untuk naik. Liftnya agak tua, tetapi masih berfungsi dengan cukup baik. Alternatifnya bisa menggunakan tangga. Restoran teras lantai paling atas bangunan hotel ini menarik karena memiliki area terbuka, sehingga pengunjung dapat melihat area Georgetown dari atas. Pemandangan ini disarankan untuk dilihat pada pagi hari ketika udara masih segar. Karena kalau sudah agak siang, cuaca bisa sangat panas. Tidak jauh dari hotel, terdapat halte bus terkenal, tepat di depan toko minimarket. Bus yang berhenti di halte tersebut biasanya berhenti lagi di hubungan komtar yang sebenarnya tidak terlalu jauh.

Not upgrading at all. Breakfast is very budgetfriendly. A slab of butter is cut into small pieces just to save a few cents! But the front desk staff are great. The bedroom is clean.

A very basic. Friendly staff. Parking for both cars and motorcycles is available. Super simple breakfast, bread and butter, coffee, and tea. Wish i could install the basic water jet spray at the toilet, after all, it isnt difficult to connect to the piping. An acceptable accommodation for travelers on a budget.

The mingood is not one of the classier hotels in georges town, but over the last 20 years i have stayed there at least a half s dozen times on my fairly frequent trips to penang, so ive got some fond memories. The staff are always very nice, however he has to admit that the hotel is quite old and kind of dated in evocative ways. If you are primarily based on tourists and firsttime visitors, many of those places on your todo list are probably within walking distance. I am including some photos from my room window and will later add some exterior photos of this hotel.
