From the lobby to all the amenities and the employees, we had an amazing stay. The sargassum is real and prevented us from getting in the ocean, unfortunately. Besides from that, the white sand beach and the pool, the activities they provide, all restaurants are great. The Italian in our option is by far the best, by the way. We’d definitely recommend it and go back there.

Was in a natural setting. Animals and beauty everywhere. Staff was wonderful. Angel at the buffet made every encounter welcoming and I don’t know how she remembered everyone’s name on a daily basis. The only downside was the sargaeum. They couldn’t do anything about it. It wasn’t their fault. More staff on the daily to clean it up would have been helpful. Also I don’t know if it’s possible here but in roatan they were beuring it in the sand on the beach so they didn’t have to haul it all away.

We spent a wonderful week at Catalonia Royal Tulum in Playa del Carmen and loved it. This all-inclusive resort delivered great food, friendly service, and relaxing vibes. Our room was clean and serviced regularly, staying fresh and comfortable. Dining was excellent with a large buffet (breakfast had tons of options) and four à la carte restaurants: Asian, Mexican, Steakhouse, and Italian. We especially liked the Italian and Mexican spots for their delicious food and atmosphere. There are multiple bars and an exclusive restaurant called Bloved that we didn’t try. There are multiple bars throughout the resort offering a great variety of drinks. Our favorite was the swim-up bar located right in the middle of the pool — it was so nice and convenient for relaxing in the water while enjoying cocktails. The staff were outstanding. Angeles and Quetzabel greeted us by name and room number every morning at breakfast, making us feel welcome. Everyone was warm and attentive. The entertainment team kept things fun with dance classes, pool exercises, games, and professional nightly shows. Eddie and Paulina stood out among the big crew. DJ and dancing followed the shows late into the night. Location is convenient — cenotes nearby and Tulum just a 10-minute drive away. We left relaxed with great memories. Highly recommend Catalonia Royal Tulum for a Tulum-area trip. We’d definitely return!

This was a wonderful resort. The food was very good and they had a large selection. Our only complaint was the buffet wasn’t open at dinner and the restaurants don’t have an open bar. Also be prepared to walk. The pool area is about a 5 minute walk from the lobby and there aren’t elevators to the rooms. We will definitely come back.

It was a beautiful resort. I loved the beach area and all the neat animals that are on the property. The staff was really nice and helpful. The food at the buffet was so fresh and plentiful. The restaurants had great food and the drinks were very good. I wish I could've stayed longer!

Everythignnwas great! Be aware that the beach thugh is swimable and water was warm on the last couple of days there was quite of bot of seaweed. Though the staff was trying really hard to keep cleaning it up. Food was good. One thing I was diappointed was pizza and coffee. I am not sure how pizza;s were never done. They were baked on top and pretty raw at the bottom. Thank God for the capucinno and expresso at the bar that made up for the coffee. Overall very happy with this respor definitely will go back.

We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum. The hotel itself was very clean, and one of our absolute favorite parts was the walk from the main area to the pool and beach—it’s a beautiful jungle path that really makes the experience feel unique and peaceful. Along the way, we saw lots of coatis, which were so fun and added to the whole nature vibe. The restaurants were very good overall, and we upgraded to the Privilege package, which was definitely worth it—especially for access to the Bloved restaurant, which we loved. The beach was absolutely beautiful. We spent so much time just sitting, relaxing, and enjoying the view. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight—very expansive with tons of options, so there was always something for everyone. The only downside for us was the amount of smoking throughout the resort. Unfortunately, we often couldn’t leave our balcony door open because of the cigarette smell, and it was noticeable in many areas. It’s a bit of a drawback, especially in such a stunning natural setting. Overall, a great stay with beautiful surroundings, good food, and a relaxing atmosphere—with just that one area for improvement.
