This has been a lovely, value-for-money stay at a very convenient location in the heart of Playa del Carmen. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and having them at the gated entrance 24 hour round was a great tick in the piece of mind box. Yes, the bar at the street corner could be loud some nights, but only occasionally, and a pair of earplugs (available from the reception) does the trick.

This was my third time staying at this hotel and it never fails to disappoint. It’s great value. The location is perfect for a solo traveler, it’s safe, central and 5 mins to the beach and bus station. Andreas the owner is fantastic as with the rest of his staff, friendly, courteous and professional. I’ll always stay at the Barrio Latino hotel.

Highlights from staying at Hotel Barriolatino: The location is great fro being right in the middle of things also for traveling to the airport it's just two blocks from the bus station. Andre was a great host, very attentive. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The air conditioning and hot water works well. We also felt safe because there was someone watching the gate to come in 24 hours. Across the street is a cute cafe called Shalala that opens nice and early at 7 for travelers. If we were passing through again we would definitely stay at Hotel Barriolatino.
