I wanted something outside the all-inclusive bubble, however with an ocean front and beach (the beach was small however nice enough to relax, the water is not swimmable there’s boats but its an ocean vibe besides nice to see and hear from my room. As a solo traveler I was looking for something near everything. This hotel is literally walking distance to everything (I hit the jackpot) my room had a beautiful view. I got the ocean front view. Down below (the beach area to the left there’s a restaurant that you can order food and drinks they will bring it to you as your relaxing on the beach. You can’t go wrong with little gem, the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Also, if you want to cook they had an electric portable stove (I found out my 8day I was there) I wish I would have known earlier. Walmart is walking distance (I walked from the hotel) to purchase beverages, bread, snacks (though you have a 7/11 the next street over, but I ran out of Nespresso pods I got them at Walmart. I did have issues with darn WiFi (it lagged) overall this is a great gem.

This was the perfect spot for my first solo international trip! The property is quaint, charming and has great views. This cute boutique hotel is just around the corner from Quinta Avenida where all the action is, yet the property itself is very quiet. I’ve honestly never slept better. The staff is so kind and helpful! I was here for a week celebrating my 40th birthday. The staff was sure to wish me a happy birthday and even left me this adorable little birthday cake towel art when I got back! They all remembered me by name and engaged with me kindly. I felt safe and secure the entire time as staff is constantly monitoring (in a positive way) I really enjoyed my little balcony with a hammock and opted for the breakfast most mornings to enjoy out on it. Staff members are constantly cleaning and maintaining the premises so very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Keep in mind that this hotel is on the beach, however, it’s not a part of the beach where you can swim. It’s nice for lounging and hanging out by the pool but if you want the beach, Playa Mamitas is a short walk away. Sargasso is pretty unavoidable this time of year so keep in mind that it’s everywhere. Some places have the capacity to maintain it better than others. This property is unable to manage it because of the nook that it’s tucked into. This didn’t hinder my ability to enjoy the property. Like I said, I would just walk on over to either the Hilton’s beach or playa Mamitas to swim in the ocean. Highly recommend!

Air conditioning was excellent. Room was very clean and cleaned daily. Staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. They had a big storm a couple years ago and what is shown as beach is no longer there. The most relaxing trip we have had in a very long time. Wonderful towel figures each day.

This was our second time in Playa Del Carmen and we specifically chose to come back to Playa Palms. As of writing this 4/2026, there is a new manager that was not there when we were there in 2021. She is not good with customer service. She accused us of breaking the lock on the door and didn't allow another guest, who had just checked out that day, to use the restroom after check out. Despite this bad encounter with this woman, we still had a great time and will be back. Hopefully we won't see her. Carlos and the rest of the staff were great. I can't praise them enough, sooo friendly. The hotel is close to everything you may need. It's quiet and not overcrowded.

Room was beautiful and comfortable. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was nice. Wish the beach area was larger and extended into the ocean instead of the rocky area. Alfredo was extremely helpful in getting transportation, information, etc. A+++

the rooms where very clean and comfortable. great location for walking. parking is a bit of a hassle. no real beach access due to fishing boats and erosion.
