We had a great time! The service was excellent, everyone was very helpful and nice. The rooftop was so nice for chilling, breakfast and dinner. We really recommend staying here.

I would actually give it 4.5 out of 10 but on balance 4 felt maybe over blown. It’s a beautiful Riad and is charming for a short term stay if you’re bored of regular hotels. The rooms aren’t the most soundproof but that comes with the territory of boutique hotels like Mellah. I would defiantly recommend booking a taxi via the hotel, as it’s not the easiest place to find! However, the location is great within the city walls. The food at the hotel was excellent, but a common theme across Morocco service, is things do take time. Don’t expect an express breakfast before you tour trip. This leads me to another comment, that breakfast is normally served between 8:30am and 11am. This is awkward for tours and morning flights. They can cater for 7:15am but it appears a bit haphazard and stressful. A general theme is poor communication between all the staff. They are all well meaning, but it seems to lack of organisation and internal communication. Booking the taxi from the airport required a great deal of persistence and having to reach out via instagram. Also, you would agree something with one member of staff to then be asked again, without clear knowledge we had already agreed things. All these negatives are easily fixed with better internal systems.

We came from the UK looking for a holiday break and all I can say is WOW! The Mellah is a true hidden gem. A beautifully curated space with amazing service that is perfectly located walking distance to all sort of attractions. We feel so rested and fell in love with Morroco. We can't wait to return. The design and focus on art details of this Riad are incredible. Lovely rooftop bar and the best Negroni! Breakfast was traditional Moroccan and delicious on the outdoor patio.

The hotel was absolutely breathtaking, and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel cared for—more like I was among friends than just a guest. Every detail was noticed and catered to, which made the experience feel personal and genuine. The food was spectacular and comforting, and the whole atmosphere reminded me of being at a family home. The ambiance was unlike anything I’ve experienced on previous vacations. I’m already looking forward to coming back. Until we meet again @ The Mellah. —L. Henderson

We had a fabulous time. The staff were amazing (Hind and Abdel in particular), they all looked after us so well. The property is stunning, the rooms are beautifully and individually decorated (I was able to peek into some of the empty rooms with Hind's permission). We will definitely be back to visit, next time in the winter for a long weekend. I cannot rate this highly enough, we loved it.

The property is a unique oasis in a very noisy city. Everything, from the rooftop pool to the ground floor welcome area is beautifully designed. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The Mellah is a true gift!
