I had a wonderful few days here with Simon, his friendly family, and staff. The tranquil setting at the end of the valley, daal, was one of my favorite places in all of Nepal. Thank you, simon, for the chef. Its incredibly cozy in the relaxation area. There were wardrobes in each room, which seemed uncommon in Nepal, but it was really roomy. Since the main asura cave is only ten minutes walk away, i would recommend staying here, especially if you intend to spend fewer days in pharping visiting caves and monasteries. Simon can also give you many directions to interesting places to visit.

A lovely location in the natural world with lots of flowers, trees, birds chirping, and extremely welcoming hosts. The cuisine is delicious and organic (the homemade plum jam is excellent). The dining area is really cozy, with a very comfortable seating arrangement and savoring views. Mina is lovely and very helpful, giving us local advice and providing us with an attractive blanket to practice yoga on. I would definitely recommend this place!.

I finally found a nice escape from katmandu within an hours drive. Solid rock is the perfect homestay. Peaceful, quiet, and clean. Simon and his wife are friendly, warm and very helpful. The food was delicious and the girls working at the lodge are very polite. Rooms are simple but sparkly clean for the first time. For the most part, i found my first room outside the valley where the linen was clean! You can trek nearby mountains. We were lucky to spot nauseous deer on the trail. It gets quite cold at night. A room cost rpr 3000 per night in total. Food is reasonably priced and owners are willing to serve food not on menu.

We had a great time during our stay here. Highly recommended! The most crucial aspect is that the family who owns this lodge is quite sweet. They went above and beyond to share many of their garden treats, and we were made to feel very welcome. All food is organic, with filtered spring water, homemade rotis made from locally grown corn, peaceful, lush forest all around. The towns in the area are charming. We went on day hikes around the lodge, visiting temples and unique pine forests.

This is not a fancy place, but i highly recommend it as if you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, relax and enjoy the vegetarian biological food. The location is just outside Kathmandu, so its like being in the middle of nature and far from town.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and i would return! A nice location for secluded getaways near katmandu. Clean rooms. Friendly and helpful hosts. Although the portions were small, the food was delicious, so if ive ever wanted to satisfy my hunger, ill order reorder ten more plates for which he would be charged.

This place is located in the hills, just a 90minute drive from the center of katmandu. It is peaceful and quiet, with the best view of the valley surrounded by many impressive shrines and monasteries in each village below. At the intersection of many beautiful trails that lead up to champa Devi, you can see all of Ktm and the Himalayan range, as well as the sacred town of Pharping in this nearby valley. The shower is always hot, the bed is very fresh, there is clean room and bathroom, delicious organic food grown in front garden by mina makes the worlds best pickles! And fresh eggs from their chickens. Simon and minaka are the kindest hosts we have met in all Nepal, and they are always available to meet your needs. For incredibly affordable prices, this is the finest lodging in and around Kathmandus!.

This place is located in a very beautiful countryside location. After the dusty and noisy city of katmandu, you can feel at ease here and its wonderful. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. We only came here for ten hours to drink delicious nepali tea and eat something. And i wanted to stay here longer! Thank you!.

The location is peaceful, the room is simple and clean with a bathroom attached and hot water, great home cooked food and great service. Simon and his wife were very helpful, explaining local walks, arranging cabs to and from ktm and allowing us to check out late. Highly recommended and will definitely be back. The perfect weekend away from city of kutum.

We have done two hiking and Simon just gives us very good tips that make us easily find out the way. The food here is completely organic. It was incredibly pleasant staying at Solid rock. Ive been here for ten days. Solid rock is a very pleasant place with amiable hosts that make you feel at ease. The food served is also very tasty and very nepalese. On top of that, the area is beautiful and peaceful. You can see some of it even from the small terrace in the room which is nice too.

This place is perfect for you who need a break from the hustle and bustle of big city life. The lodge has srl dining area and seating area with stunning mountain views. Very serene! And now with the lonely planet seal of approval - definitely worth bringing on twilight weekend trips.
