This hotel is a must for anyone visiting Amsterdam! The location is ideal near the Leidseplein ( 1 block) right on several tram lines and a 5 minute walk from the Risksmuseum. The bloom market is three blocks away. The staff was wonderfully helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions. The coffee lounge was clean and welcoming with afternoon pastries. Just outside was a stop for evening canal boat rides. I wholeheartedly give this an excellent rating.

A wonderful hotel in walking distance from tram and canal. The employees went out of their way to help and answer questions. It had an elevator. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful old hotel. We had a superior room that was large enough for a super king sized bed plus two armchairs and a settee creating a relaxing area after a day in the city. Located right beside a canal with easy walking access of about 20 mins to most city centre attractions. Also in a good area for restaurants just 3 mins walk away. Hotel located on a tram line direct from Amsterdam Centraal station, Every member of hotel staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast worth the extra money. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is in an excellent location, has charming staff and a fantastic breakfast. Very convenient to the tram, Leidseplein, and walking distance to a lot of great restaurants. We loved our stay here

We had a fabulous time at Dikker and Thijs. We were greeted by wonderful front desk staff who continued to greet us each day with a smile, and small chat. The hotel itself is unique and though a bit of a maze to get to our room - it added to it’s uniqueness. We would return anytime we are back in Amsterdam and would recommend to others.

The staff was incredibly friendly, allowing us to check in early on arrival. They were extremely informative of the area and what attractions we should venture for the day. The location of the hotel was excellent for our travels to Amsterdam. Easy access to the tram which we used to navigate the city. We had a minor issue with the hot water and when we brought it to the staffs attention they remedied the issue. No fuss. The rooms are old-style European but spacious and comfortable. As well, the rooms are priced well. Highly recommend.

Comfortable and good quality hotel in convenient location. Very small lobby with nice quiet sitting lounge in the back for coffee or meeting others. We did not have a chance to try their breakfast. Room and bath were good size, clean and comfortable. Not the best mattress I’ve had but good sized and fine for us. Big windows, high ceilings and furnishings are nice. Our room had a little tram noise until midnight or so, but normal for city hotel and good to have it close. A busy restaurant and bar area in the block just behind hotel. Great for our evenings though the crowds leave a mess in the morning. Convenient location to museums and a reasonable walk to main city attractions. Overall a very good place for our days in Amsterdam.

Great location on a lovely canal that was located near public transportation and lots of restaurants. The Rijksmuseum was an easy 10-minute walk. It is a busy area but our inner standard room was quiet. There are lots of different room choices depending on your budget and whether you want a canal view. Our room was very nicely appointed and kept super clean during our 6 night stay. They left 2 bottles of water every day which we really appreciated. Small fridge was very useful. The public transportation system is easy to navigate, and the different trams located a few steps away from the hotel got us pretty anywhere we wanted to go. A 5 minute walk will take to you to any type of restaurant you would like. Wonderful front desk staff who was very helpful before and during our stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices including eggs made to order, fresh fruit, Dutch cheeses, yummy pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice. There is also a lounge area with a free coffee machine and tea that was very pleasant so if you are traveling with others, it is a nice place to meet up. Highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Lovely hotel with history and perfect location to see everything in Amsterdam! Big room, very comfortable beds! The lounge area is a wonderful spot to relax with friends after a busy day sightseeing. The staff are friendly and welcoming, highly recommended for a trip to Amsterdam!
