Very nice place. The restaurant is very good already. The new chef is more at the table than usual, and the service is very friendly and helpful. The wine they serve here is good, for the atmosphere makes me feels nice to be part of a great evening.

The chateau is lovely, it is regrettable to see the hotel fall short in comparison. We stayed here for a wedding at the chateau. Excellent food, drinks, and superb service at the wedding were provided. The hotel was immaculately run down for the most part, but I couldn't figure out why. The linen and towels were moldy, as were the bathroom tiles, the gym had no air conditioning, and the bar staff was underwhelmed. The hotel didn't show any care, the gym didn't have any decent equipment, and there weren't any fans or air conditioning in the rooms! We sweated for the entire night. We tried to open the balcony doors to make mosquitoes in, but that made the mosquitoes inside. Although the employees were friendly and accommodating, that did not make up for the poorly-cared-for hotel.

We liked our visit and will return to this hotel again. We knew what to anticipate because this was our third stay at this motel. The receptionist clerk was extremely accommodating, letting us lock up our bikes in the nearby Dovecote de Duiventil, like previous years, and she also gave us a room facing the pond, which we enjoy because she can hear the ducks. The ducks are quite noisy, but we usually find their occasional quacking to be a lovely sound, which is one of the reasons we like to return to this motel. The area is also very green and peaceful, but only a short distance from supermarkets, etc. Bicycle. It is very convenient for cyclists, with marked trails close by. There are also walks around Heemskerk that you can start from the hotel leaflet available at the reception. We did not notice the poor soundproofing mentioned in another review, but we may have been lucky to have peaceful neighbors. Although there would be some renovations needed, everything seemed clean enough, including the bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and there was a small refrigerator and an electric kettle to make drinks. The room was also quite spacious, with a small balcony in front of the window, complete with two chairs. Much brighter lighting could be an improvement, as many hotel rooms.
