This place is a great place to go for supper on tuesday. Old, original hotel in quaint surroundings. The staff and food were delicious.

We had a wonderful night. It was wonderful to see so many locals having merriment with tastier nights like the Barbie and ken. Although the bar was busy, all the staff members made us feel at home and provided excellent service. We spent the entire evening playing pool with some of the welcoming local people. The upstairs lodging is simple but lovely, warm, and spotless. With only 30 minutes from town, this is the ideal getaway. This place is also perfect for making new friends and inviting us back.

Overall, the hotel is nice, comfortable, and very pretty, so i would recommend it. Great value for money in governors bay, with views of the sea and mountains. Its not a fancy 5 star hotel, it is not advertised as such, but for the star rating it has, its worth mentioning. Enjoy dazzling latenight balcony views and photo taking, which are truly breathtaking. There is no transportation to get you there, therefore you must drive, take cab, or take an Uber, however, Christchurch is about 230 minutes away. The hotel offers excellent value and is ideal for reserving for several nights, whether on business or vacation. However, booking well in advance is advised to ensure good pricing. If you book ten days in ahead, you shouldnt anticipate cheap prices, although at any time and rate, prices are not too high. Although the rooms are comfortable and clean, they share toilets and showers, though you may be able to obtain an ensuite room, be prepared to pay more for that. Staff members are pleasant and welcoming, while the food menu is delicious and reasonably priced. From 11 am to 11 pm, there is onsite lunch and breakfast options. Dinner is the same menu as lunch, yet there are specials that arent on the menu. Take

We ate lunch with our granddaughter, who must be followed. The view of the harbor heads of lyttelton is very beautiful. Both the food and the service were firstrate. There are many lovely dining options outside and inside the doors. I heartily endorse this establishment, it is a true jewel. This visit wont be recomended, but its certain.

A wonderful discovery while out on our days drive. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. We chose the autumn sunshine for our cozy indoor seating, which was close to a roaring fire, and we were not disappointed. My husband had the best calamari in years. Although the polenta chips were tasteless and wellprepared, the accompanying ooli lacked flavor. With the Irish cider, it made up for it. Excellent lunch, i hope to return.

I adored this location. Excellent menu that accommodates a wide variety of dietary needs, skilled personnel, and several vegan options. When my companion took i walked by the lodging, she thought it was lovely. It would be suited as if it were rented out for reuniting with families.

The food was amazing, the views were incredible and the service was friendly but a little slow. Great atmosphere. I had the streamed vegetables and my partner had an amazing burger! The fries were also hot and crunchy. A great lunch, highly recommended.

My first visit to this place was today for a full breakfast and drinks. The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly and made the experience unforgettable. Food was delicious. Just go there!.

I have always wanted to stay here, but we were always just passing through before. The owner was amazing. Their answerphone was playing and he sent me his private phone number so we could communicate. We werent disappointed. It was a beautiful room. Quality bedding and stunning views. Breakfast was included, which was an added bonus. Yes it is old and quirky, yet the views are breathtaking and the staff is friendly and helpful.

To be honest, i wasnt expecting too much, but ive tried the restaurant because it was dog friendly. It was actually really good food. Homestyle roast beef and very tasty seafood chowder with polenta fried calamari. Even the dog had a steak and biscuits that he devoured thoroughly. Washed down with wellmade cocktails with an amazing view of the port. Will definitely go back.

We stayed there over the weekend. Great pub, great friendly staff, fun swimming pool, good beer, cool balcony upstairs, compact nice rooms and a delicious simple breakfast the next morning! Recommended.

We had a great time here. Penelope was really friendly. Even swimming in the salt pool during the winter was incredibly enjoyable on tuesday night! The locals were entertaining, and meeting sir ralph was one of the highlights. The bed and room were quite cozy. Would without denying it be advisable.

The best pub in the world! Great views, delicious food to complement the chef. I stayed for the night and had a private dinner on the upstairs veranda. Perfect. Dog friendly too.

We went to the restaurant and it was great. The only downside was that the air conditioner was up quite high and cold inside. We just popped on our jumpers. Food was delicious. Even though it is very busy, the staff are friendly and make us feel welcome.

When this lovely, tiny, historic hotel appeared while searching for a place to eat in the port hills, it suddenly appeared. Fantastic setting, location, and helpful personnel. The meal was excellent. I will undoubtedly return with my furry pal for an ribeye because i adored the 'Dogs menu!.
