This was a wonderful experience - while the room and bathroom are pretty basic - it was rather a step back into the past - we loved it. Comfy bed - great shower - delicious tea and beautiful view. But the pièce de résistance was the restaurant - simply outstanding. A most unexpected gem in what looks simply funky - it is way more than it seems:)

Loved that it is environmentally focused. Showers were great. Much better than they looked as I am not really a fan of showers over a bath. Restaurant was AMAZING! I would come here again regardless of whether I was staying or not. Wrong grind of coffee for the plunger, but that is really the only negative I can think of :)

Amazing location, away from the crowds and a short distance from both the airport and town. Staff was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful, especially the ladies at the reception one from Chile, the other from Uruguay (arohamai forgot your names!!) and the guy in the evening. Will definitely stay again at Sherwood in the future.

Sherwood Hotel Queenstown - A very nice place to stay. A summary: - Pre-arrival contact: We were contacted before our arrival to confirm the booking, etc.; - Parking: the hotel offers parking for guests but may be limited. - Check-in: Check-in was very efficient and helpful;. - Room readiness: The room was ready and very well presented. - Bathroom + toiletries: the bathroom was very clean and the toiletries were very nice; - Storage/cupboards: There was clothes hanging space and drawers. - Tea and coffee making: There was tea and coffee making and a small refrigerator. - Bed: The bed was very nice to sleep in. - Pillows: There were 2 pillows per person. - Locality/restaurants/shops: The location is about a ten minute drive (or public bus journey) into the central city. - Public transport nearby: There are bus stops within walking distance from the hotel and public transport busses were easy to use. We bought tickets from the driver for each journey. Hotel dining - The Sherwood Hotel Restaurant is a "two-hat" rated restaurant and we highly, highly recommend eating here. The food was wonderful! Recommended.

This is what you might call an eco-retro motel. We enjoyed the motel vibe and had a great view of the mountains. We also took advantage of the sauna (no charge for those staying at the motel but you need to reserve). The breakfast was also delicious and the restaurant was excellent for dinner. We also appreciated the kitchenette in the room. This motel is just far enough from the city center of Queenstown to be away from the hustle and bustle. I will note that a wedding the night we arrived, with the reception held in the outdoor space adjoining the restaurant (and pretty much across from our room) meant we listened to the wedding singer all evening, but it ended about 9:45. Staff were very helpful when we needed to find a creative parking spot (due to the wedding).

Cozy room, lovely view of the lake.Very comfortable bed. Wonderful restaurant for dinner & breakfast with a great wine selection, service was attentive & personal. A relaxed, cozy atmosphere around the complex, loved the outdoor fires. Easy parking, good location for activities, on bus routes.

Sherwood was amazing, about a 5 minute drive into town but enough to keep you out of traffic. Amenities were spot on with a fridge and able to cook in the room as needed along with a restaurant on the resort to keep things easy. Accommodations with the staff with needs were attended to swiftly and everyone was extremely friendly
