Black sheep is a friendly, well-maintained and very professional outfit, offering a great facility for budget-conscious travellers. The location is excellent but parking is a hassle as it is on-street. The best time to find a space is around 5.00 p.m. The staff are delightful and the beds are very comfortable. I would definitely come back.

The Black sheep backpackers was incredible. The staff are friendly and professional. The facilities were excellent. The dorm rooms are clean with ample storage and a privacy curtain. The beds were comfortable and warm during the winter season. The kitchen has everything you could need to prepare your meals. There is good storage for food in the fridge and a place for dry goods. The hot tub and sauna are real assets. Great after a day skiing biking or hiking or just to relax. Above all, the highlight to this property is the people you meet. All ages and backgrounds are welcome and mingle to share experiences and make new memories. Don’t hesitate. Book this hostel. You won’t be disappointed. 😊

Great backpackers, cosy lounge area, good kitchen, we stayed for one night but were really impressed with the facilities including a free dinner if you wanted it. Super close to town.

I was very impressed with the lodge. I was dubious staying in a backpackers (I am nearly 60) but was impressed from the moment walking in. The place is clean, comfortable, has parking, spa pool, great kitchen and laundry facilities. My bed was very comfy, nice sheets and warm as toast when those radiators came on. Great for wet ski gear. The showers were powerful and hot, the ablution area was spotlessly clean. Well done Black Sheep, I will certainly book here again

This is a great place to stay while visiting Queenstown, this was my first solo trip and obviously I’ve heard some weird stuff about hostels, I was hoping to stay at some weird crazy place but it was actually more than what I expected! Cool installations, nice and respectful people while I stayed there, the only thing I would’ve loved is the staff promoting more group parties, it was kinda dead, not really a hostel to make friends I would say, it’s close to everything so car is not needed unless you want to do activities that require driving. Overall a great experience.

This was one of my favorite backpakers in New Zealand. Trendy place in great location close to restaurants. There were 3 of us and we got our own clean 3 bedroom. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use it but computer/lounge area looked so comfy after a long day touring town.
