A quick overnight trip en route to Russell but a lovely place. Super clean and well equipped. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Beautiful place on the beach with a world class view. Wish we could have stayed longer. Nice restaurants nearby too!

Best location ever! Property is a bit dated bit clean and warm and brilliantly located on a stunning beach only 30 minutes from Whangārei if that.

View was beautiful and relaxing. Ross and Shelley were so nice and friendly. Although there are no stores nearby, they do offer the necessities at the office. It was great having a full kitchen. We would definitely recommend staying at The Sands.

Very nice and clean cabin, the hosts are friendly, and the environment is really beautiful. I recommend a walk to the beach, then turn right and continue up to the lookout, and then continue to many other empty beaches and beautiful scenery.

This place was amazing. This place is right on the shore but far enough back to be private and peaceful. Having pleasant furnished rooms with a lot of space, you feel like you have the space to yourself even when it's full. It's worth it. But there's still time for us to go back, and we will return. Some of the following questions do not apply since we were out of lockdown. Hand sanitizer was also provided.

We will go back. We are glad we reserved for a few nights so we had enough time to beachcomb and climb a few hills to see the sights. But remember to reserve at the low tide during the day in order to get around the rocky points. Fishing was good. The motel unit was equipped with everything you need. Two fridges! There are no nearby restaurants or food shops, so you must bring your own snacks. When we made our reservation, the motel informed us what our unit was equipped with. Cars were given a fenced park.

It was a bit cold overnight, but the heater worked fine. Unfortunately, it's also a bit windy, so I didn't use the outdoor area too much. But on a calm and sunny day it would be great.

Beautiful motel that is located directly on the beach and has a lovely green area in the centre with trees and picnic benches. The sound of the ocean from our room was fantastic! The accommodation is spotless and suitable for use. Brett and Shirley were kind and helpful. There, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. If I could, the location should provide mosquito nets to provide better mosquito protection on the windows and even something for the outer doors. We frequently had one or more mosquito bites in the room at night, and I did get quite a few bites. Just excuse the pun, this was the only flies in the ointment.
