In the colorado Delta County wine region, this charming be is where we self-developed a bicycle itinerary to emulate what we typically do in Europe in the fall. We traveled with another couple, and we created our own routes for biking, hiking, and wineries. We are from the front range and were pleasantly surprised to learn more about the area that supplies cherries, peaches, and apples to our frontage grocery stores. We searched for distinctive lodging for this trip to enjoy in the mornings and evenings, and we discovered Maison de Terre. What a charming and interesting choice! This property is a genuine adobe home on a rural property outside of Cedaredge, Co. It was entirely constructed by the proprietors, starting with handheld exposed beams and hand-crafted dried bricks that make this super structure. The guest rooms are on a lower, private level with a private patio. The family owners are upstairs, and everyone has a common foyer. At this property, guests will feel as though they are really held like family and have not seen each other in a while. Marty and terre were wonderful hosts, bringing delicious breakfasts to us each morning on trays to the patio outside our rooms. Such a treat! They have constructed such a unique location far from the front range, with black skies and brilliant stars and no plane ride or jet lag recovery. I heartily suggest it

A typical adobe house. If you're skiing or hiking up there, you're only about 120 minutes from the Mesa visitors center. They did it, and they even built the adobe bricks. From their story-back deck off the kitchen, you have some amazing vistas of San Francisco jeans. Excellent cuisine. Let them know if you have food allergies or something before you come and they'll customize the menu for you. If you're fortunate, shell's bread has just been baked in their brick oven. Although it seems remote, the cedaredge store is only about 8 minutes away. The host is American but speaks French. She eats dishes that make you think she has traveled extensively around the globe.

There are guest rooms on a lower level with a private patio. All family owners live upstairs, and everyone has a common foyer. At this property, guests feel treated genuinely like family who haven't seen each other in a while. Marty and Terre were excellent hosts, delivering delicious breakfasts to us each morning on trays on the patio outside our rooms. Such a delight!
