The food was optional, but cheap. The staff couldn't be more helpful, I originally booked a standard room, however, got a free upgrade to deluxe viewing the beach.

If you are looking for an serene, beautiful and hospitable experience...look no further! Some reviews say this place is "hard to get to" or "not close to anything"...isn't that the point of coming all the way out to this paradise!!! Starting with the hotel itself, it has everything you NEED. The hotel is a little older but for what it lacks in modern touches it vastly makes up for in a unique and classy European castle style. The beach is private and for most of my stay I had it completely to myself. There is some light music from adjacent hotels(probably bc I was there for New Year time) but aside from that all you hear is waves crashin and the chatter of local kids playing in the distance on the beach. Magical. The staff was phenomenal. From the moment I arrived they were waiting for me and continued to do so for my entire stay. They were a bit understaffed for the holiday but the staff worked day and night to make sure all guests felt @ home. It is secluded so there really is only the option to eat @ their restaurant...which is awesome! The owner is a German Chef and the menu reflects in. I was there 4 days and enjoyed every meal. Breakfast is included which is convenient and delicious. I also bought a 2 Kilo fish from a local and they prepared it amazingly for me. Fish prep fee was less that $35 USD. A unique and recommended special treat. Lastly, if you stay here you MUST treat yourself to a massage from Grace. Only 600 Peso and worth every cent! LOVE IT and TY!!!

This hotel is amazing. The owner Hans is a super friendly german man. The whole staff is extremely nice, you feel super welcome and at home. The hotel facilities are amazing. The pool is also great. If you want to take some tours they arrange everything for you. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Das Personal ist freundlich nett und immer Hilsbereit.das Essen aus Deutscher und Italjenischer und Phillipinischer Küche ist hervorragend und reichlich.Ich werde das Hotel das nahe am Meer liegt weiter empfehlen

It was an amazing experience. The hotel was well kept and the staff are courteous. My only comment was that there are garbage in the beachfront. It would have been a perfect get-away if the beach is clean.

The owner Hans where in th hotel and made the stay perfectly. Me and my friends and my girlfriend hade a great time. We did not want to leave. Its faraway. Just like we like it. But it cheap and easy to find it whit the tricycle.

Very interesting old colonial style hotel in an interesting place but way off the beaten track. Nice rooms, nice courtyard garden, al fresco dining under the stars,quiet location, good food, and really great staff. For the price exceptional in all ways. Immediate surroundings and beach not so great but a short boat ride brings you to really beautifull pristine beaches or snorkling on coral reefs. If you want old style, a quiet and relaxing but interesting holiday and to see the real village life this is for you. We had a really nice stay, experienced lots and saw the reality of life for many filipinos. Staff were really exceptional. It doesnt have 5 star furnishings or standards but for the price its very good.

After spending a night in Manila we wanted nothing more than get out of the hustle of city life. We booked 3 nights at White Castle for some much needed R&R. Rather than a hotel transfer we decided to risk public transport... As well travelled backpackers we had no problems getting from the centre of Manila to the front door of White Castle. Our route was; Taxi from hotel to Coastal Mall Manila, bus from mall to Calatagan. With the aid of Google Maps on my phone we were able to get of the bus as close as possible to White Castle, leaving only a short tricycle ride from the main road to the door. For a non-experienced traveller it might be more of a hassle then an enjoyable experience. It was a little after dusk as we arrived at White Castle and it felt like we had stepped into a fairy tail. We were met by one of the friendly staff who showed us directly to our room, where we saw the furniture only added to the character of the building. After a quick freshen up we went to the reception and ordered some food and a cold beer. We ended a long day with a quiet stroll on the beach. White Castle is on the foot of a beach, a short drive from the closest town. On the night we arrived there were only a few rooms occupied and everyone seemed to be out. This made it feel like the castle was our own :) We were able to rent one of the motorbikes to explore the area over the following days. Overall, we had a lovely time at White Castle and would not hesitate to return.

Awesome staff. Great view of the beach and ocean. Great selection of homecooked food. The facility is older with some wear, but still comfortable. Adjacent beach had a lot of karaoke, but it was tolerable for me.

We were on the 3rd floor And the shower was trickling and the toilet needed enough water to flush but our friends on the second floor had no problems. The staff was excellent and food was also wonderful. WiFi was poor from the room, went off and on, and could only be accessed downstairs by the pool and not from the comfort of your room

We stayed in this hotel a few months ago and was very pleased with the continuing friendliness and overall pleasantness of the staff and facilities. We were surprised with a water side view this time with an upgrade to the room that was unexpected. Everyone from the manager (Mary Grace) to the groundskeeper was very helpful and attended to our needs. The holiday weekend resulted in more guests this time than before but there was no let down in the service. The breakfast was good and the coffee hot! It is still tricky to get to the hotel from the main road but there are clear signs to direct you.
