In late October, my wife and I stayed at Almadina Smart Luxury. Whenever someone else is visiting Porto, Id heartily suggest the tiny boutique property. The hotel is surprisingly peaceful and situated in an area that Id describe as more hipster than pretty, which was fine with me. The rooms are large, spotless, and comfortable despite the hotel not really having a common area for socializing. The hotel was close to restaurants and attractions, and rail stops were accessible on foot in some cases simply by walking. Joan and bruno were among the front desk personnel, who were really friendly, helpful, and courteous. They provided an extra key card and passcode, despite the fact that the reception area is not manned at all. The breakfast we received from the hotel was reasonably priced and satisfying. Eggs that were cooked to order were also regularly offered. The restaurant does not really have a shared space for socializing, but the hotel's rooms are large, spotless, and cozy. We stayed in two distinct rooms at the beginning and end of our Portugal vacation, and each room featured cozy couches and chairs to unwind after a day of sightseeing and before heading out to any of the many nearby eateries. Although I would have said that the area is more hipster than lovely, the hotel was quiet, which was acceptable.

A trip to Porto would undoubtedly return there the next time we are in the lovely city. We had never been to Porto before and stayed here for a weekend city break. The hotel is in a decent location, less than five minutes from the trinidad metro station, which has a direct line from the airport. The property is more of a boutique than a hotel, so you must ring the bell to enter. We arrived early, dropped our bags, and explored Porto. When we got back to check in, they had already delivered our bags to our room, which was a nice touch and the first of many. The room itself was gorgeous. An old colony converted into a modern and stylish bedroom, with a very nice bed, two chairs, a coffee table, and a sideboard. The freestanding marble sink was lovely, and the bathroom had a separate walkin shower and toilet with all new fittings. The designer certainly has a good eye and managed to feel modern while still paying respect to the history of the building, which I suppose could be said of Porto as a whole. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh bread, cheese, and cakes, and eggs cooked to order. The dining area is lovely, again blending modern design seamlessly into older surroundings. This place is very beautiful, the location is perfect for getting to the porto and from the airport. The staffs are also very kind and helpful, and the rooms and breakfast are nice too. The location is very strategic, there are many restaurants close to the hotel, and there is also a nightlife that can be found close to the hotel. Henry is very kind to us.
