I would be happy here for months. It deserves a ten out of 10 for its perfect blend of peace and quiet and gracious staff. Helpful but not intrusive. Kind and interesting. They also have a massage therapist who is available for a very low price. Besides that, the sauna was equally astounding! The restaurant was the biggest surprise. Breakfast was nutritious and fresh. For other delights like big bowls of fresh fruit salad, I had to leave my favorite chocolate croissant a few mornings out. I expected to go to caldera town for most dinners, but ended up eating here because it was superior than many restaurants and food and wine were very reasonably priced. No excuse to leave. Stay there and have a nice evening. An added bonus was when crank, the resident cat, came into our room and spent the night with us. I woke up to him curled around my feet! The grounds are lovely and very varied. I believe just about anything will grow here. We enjoyed watching the birds and two cows across the ravine. No city noise! In December, there is great morning sun for breakfast on the terrace every morning! I wish I had passed my couid test so that I could have remained for another two weeks.

In Estreito da Caldera, Hotel trio is essentially hidden somewhere. It is in a wonderful setting, with a view of the sea and a wonderful setting in a yard with a lovely pool. The entire setting is unique, and you are immediately made to feel at home. You will only realize these tiny details if you've stayed in numerous hotels before because the rooms are large, tastefully furnished in the regional style. Having a very comfy bed allows for a fantastic, unobstructed rest. stylish room and bath. Everything is in top shape. While the hotel and the apartment are already a tangible asset to this property, the restaurant is truly amazing, with breakfast served as a couid or dinner a la carte and occasionally in advance. Excellent value for money. In addition, the hotel provides massage services, which I highly recommend. Very helpful and friendly employees and the proprietor I can't wait to return!.

We highly desire to return to Hotel Three! Beautiful surroundings, a relaxed atmosphere, fantastic food, even our early breakfasts for picnics, catering to a gluten-intolerant guest with home baked bread, very helpful and friendly staff, a comfy room bed!, nature-friendly with high green eco credentials, away from the crowds, great value for money spent. We could not have asked for more. Yes, it takes approximately 45 minutes by car to get to funeral, but that was a bonus for us. We hired a car and it was relatively easy to find. We thought having a vehicle allowed us to go wherever we wanted, when we wanted, but I would assume the madeira taxi drivers are really helpful.

Luxurious comfort off the beaten path. We didn't realize it wasn't in Caldera when we booked it, but it didn't matter. We had a terrace with a view, double sinks in the bathroom, a plentiful breakfast, and a great restaurant to dine in at night. Then warned us before we arrived that most visitors rented cars, but we went ahead with taxis and went walking and did fine. The front desk connected us with a driver who took us around the north coast and dropped us off at an excellent New England walk, so the absence of a car did not diminish our enjoyment. The dinners were excellent for a hotel and reasonably priced, including a chestnut soup one night and a perfect medium rare espetada grilled meat on a skewer one night. A rare but unanticipated luxury.

Great view from half a hill. Lovely room in the middle of a wellkept garden. Breakfast is excellent. Great restaurant. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great base for walking to explore the west of the island.
