Charming hotel with stunning vistas. Owned by two Dutch guys fir and freak, who make sure you enjoy a fantastic stay. The position is excellent, the rooms are spacious and very clean. The outdoor terraces and large swimming pool make this hotel perfect in the summer, while in the winter you can relax by the open fireplace and enjoy the delicious food.

We remained here for 5 nights and had a great time. The proprietors were not present, but Emily was very attentive and worked very hard the entire time. When the proprietors are there, I assume it must have a slightly different vibe. We had a big room with a small terrace with a table and chairs and a huge bathroom with a fantastic view of the mountains and hills below. The bed had a very firm mattress, which I loved, but the duvet and pillow weren't for me. The pillow was so soft and lumpy, the duvet was a heavy lump of man-made material, no lightness about it! I did not sleep very well because of that. Breakfast was fine, though some variety would have been nice. We requested fresh orange juice, but the orange juice left in a jug was just a carton. The scrambled egg was generally very good, with the exception it was far too salty, but it was the same every morning. No brown bread, just white, and fresh fruit was fantastic with a wide variety. Each day, homemade jam and delicious honey. The grounds and pool were quite well maintained. The pool is enormous. Because of the lack of air conditioning, I'm not sure how wonderful it would be in exceptionally hot climate. The last two days were fairly hot, and the room was only just warm enough to sleep

This is a great hotel to remain in, from the walks in the neighborhood villages to visit and relax by the pool. First, we were pleased with our stay because of emily, who seems to do everything at the hotel. She showed us our room, fed the meals in the evening, served drinks on the terrace in the evening, and single handed no other help, served breakfast and was always happy with a typical Portuguese smile. She was wonderful and a plus for this hotel. As reported by others. This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic setting. It has a very human touch, a little like a private house. We had a nice suite with a small balcony, and it was nice. Many of the rooms have balconies. Small areas to sit and contemplate in pace and quiet are scattered throughout the property. The garden is nice, with a good size pool, and there are many small spaces to sit in peace and quiet. All the lounges were of good quality and clean.

Weve been here several times and the quinoa da gia is fantastic. It is in a small village on the top of many hairpin bends with breathtaking views over the edge of Sierra Estrella national park. The rooms are oldfashioned and comfortable and have modern bathrooms. The staff is just fantastic, extremely helpful, and friendly. The pool is lovely. The giant gin and tonics on the patio with a view of the valley are the best ever, with about 8 different gins to choose from. The food is excellent and delicious, but because this is rural Portugal, portions are on the heartier side. You could share main courses and indulge yourself to dessert if you have a starter for each. Pot roasts and casseroles are recommended. Profiteroles are excellent. The restaurant has a nice selection of toys that are really suitable for children. However, you must watch out for your own at the pool. Breakfast is excellent. You can rent a homemostly in a bedroom, where you can cook alone. The village is not particularly good for eating food, although you can purchase some basic items. There is a supermarket near the campsite at the bottom of the hill.
