Veldig bra. Et spennende gammelt herskapshus med mye historie og tradisjon fra vinproduksjon danner rammen. Deilig, tradisjonell mat og gode viner fra egne druer. Hyggelig vertskap.

What a fabulous break we have just had thanks to Manual and his team. This is a family run , small Vinyard in a stunning location. We even had a little tour of the old house which is dating back 19 generations of the family. We booked on the day while touring the area. The rooms are brand new , inside old barns and buildings. Small but just what we needed as we had a large pool and garden just near the room. The breakfast was excellent. Served by really nice staff. We went for the dinner and wine tasting option which was also excellent and with lots of great info about their wines. We were lucky to have great weather so at sunset we sat in the gardens with a glass of wine , actually in the vines… how relaxing. We would highly recommend this place for a break away from busy life. It’s a small village, only 2 little cafes , but the one we spent an evening in was ideal, cheap wine and simply food , a welcome rest from a busy week in Porto City. Overall 5/5 or 10/10 for this lovely private accommodation.

This is a beautiful property. The pride and tradition expressed both by the family who owns and runs the property as well as by the manner in which the property is maintained was clear. I would highly recommend a stay at this winery if you looking for excellent wine and a true experience with a Portuguese wine maker. We dislike "touristy" experience when traveling so this did not disappoint. We hope to return some day!!

A definite must stay if you are visiting the Duoro Valley. It is a small slice of paradise once you enter the red door. Manuel was so kind and helpful. The wine paired dinner (for a cost) was delicious and very informative. Highly recommend you book here.

We were so surprised by what was hiding behind the entrance door to this stay. A non descript metal door opened onto the cutest gravel courtyard and beyond that a lovely vineyard. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We decided last minute to join other guests for dinner and a wine pairing. My gluten free diet was accommodated and the food was amazing. But more so was the experience of touring the historical family home and dining by candlelight. Hearing all about the wine from the owner/wine maker was the cherry on top. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal.

This was a beautiful place to stay. The room, the vineyards, living and dining area and outdoor spaces were all lovely and peaceful. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, we were not able to experience the dinner service as we arrived on a Sunday and this is the day off for the chef. Our host, Manuel, was very helpful and gave us a history of the estate as well as local information and recommendations. One thing we were not aware of was that our arrival was the same day as a local holiday celebration. The festivities included a concert and fireworks just down the road which made it a bit difficult to sleep, so perhaps be aware of this holiday if traveling through Provesende in mid June. We only stayed for one night, but wish we could've stayed to experience more at Morgadio da Calçada.

Unique experience in this small family run authentic hotel - it’s not really a hotel it’s an experience. Location is unbelievable and it’s a quaint character filled small winery. We loved the wine paired 3 course meal, Manuel welcomed us to this more than 400 year old winery that’s been in his family for generations. Totally recommend for a trip to Duoro it’s not just a place to stay.

The property is managed by a family who have owned the vineyard for generations. The rooms are in one of their renovated stone buildings adjacent to the villa. The rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable. You can enjoy dinner and a wine tasting in the living room with cozy furnishings and a warm fire. Make sure you get a tour of the old wine production in the lower level of the villa.

We had a wonderful stay at Morgadio do Calcada. It has been the highlight of our trip to Portugal - and there were already so many impressive moments! The property is a manor house at the edge of Provesendes run by the 18th generation of the household. The lodge is in a newly renovated part across the courtyard from the main house, surrounded by vineyards and a citrus grove. The rooms are modern with a very spacious bathroom. The owner, Manuel, is amazingly warm. He hosted the dinner the night we dined there and shared a lot of insight on his family and the range of wines he produces from his old vines. The reserved red was stunning, so was his white port. His staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. The village itself is UNESCO heritage protected - charming, walkable, and probably has not changed for 500 years. The church bell still rings to tell the villagers time, and a small bakery opens for a few hours in the morning to supply the village with bread. There is a cafe, a restaurant, and a bar. But the laid-back lifestyle means they may or may not be open when you arrive... You must have dinner there one of the nights. Also, if you get a chance to tour the main house, do it. It's like going back in time...

Morgadio da cascade is, in reality, in one of the world's most charming locations. Everything about the place is wonderful, including the history, wine, port, and people. Take a day of hiking through vineyards to the village of Piano before taking a taxi home after visiting Quints wineries and eating at one of their fantastic restaurants. Relax in the garden by a vineyard and read a book while sipping on the onsite wine or port!
