We spent two nights here with our labrador. It is a charming and unusual old Portuguese home with beautiful artwork and furnishings. Beautiful garden. A tasty 5 rupiah breakfast. Incredibly neat. When you arrive, the front desk personnel is nice. Being so limited by signs, there is only a tiny 8-placement plaque to the left of the front entrance, which has the impression of being a private home, made our day quite difficult to locate. It takes a rather lengthy uphill walk from the hotel home because it is quite a long distance from the river. Parking is available either on the street, with tickets purchased every two hours, or in a paid car park approved by the hotel, which is 300 yards away seven days a day. As I had already mentioned, we had our labrador with us, and our room was on the top level. Because the second story of stairs, the top landing, and our bedroom are all on laminate floors, I was concerned about his claws on the floors for the chambers below. If we return, I would request a ground floor room. Having said that, it is a fairly fair price and excellent value.

The staff was friendly and helpful and pleased to provide information about the area and print our return boarding pass. The room was comfortable and clean, with a to, and breakfast was reasonably priced at 5 euros rp. The room had a safe for free. 10 minutes on foot or a short bus ride will get you to the city center. Not so good: the neighborhood was extremely noisy and at around a.m., people yelling outside often woke us up. There was no noise insulation at all, and the road outside was also loud, though it wasn't a problem at night. Room amenities were basic, but for 30 euros a night, it was a great value for money. No fault of the owners, but the other German guests were extremely inconsiderate, returning from nights out at am and yelling all over the place. There isn't anyone around to advise them to be quiet.

The owner was there to give us a bag of clothes when we got back. One of the things we learned here is that this property is old and has unique character. The breakfast here is amazing and they serve good food. The hotel environment is cool and clean.

We stayed one night with friends. We had a spacious room with five single beds. This time of year, it's not too warm, but the rooms have heaters which we didn't see at our next hotel in Portugal. The hotel is a bit dated, but it's full of character and cheap as chips. None of us were up for breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The hotel and area were very quiet. We weren't there long enough, but we didn't have any complaints.

The hotel is about 15 minutes by foot from Trinidad Station and a cozy and peaceful place to spend a quick trip to Porto. The rooms were very clean and have a private bathroom and toilet. The location is convenient to visit the center of Porto. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
