I recently returned from a fiveweek stay in this place. Its on the sixth floor of a fascinating old building, about a fiveminute walk from Alexander Pesky Square, where metro lines 3 and 4 intersect. It is kept tidy by the constantly present very busy staff. When you enter, you must remove your shoes! There is a great kitchen and even a clothes washing machine! That is free to use. And there is a great supermarket prima with very reasonable prices right next to the metro station on the north side of Pesky Prospect. There are no big dorms but rather tiny cubicles with reasonably comfortable beds for one or two guests. On the whole, a very clean, convenient base for seeing the sights of St. Petersburg on a budget.

We chose the hostel for it's private rooms. Even though the room was barely large enough to turn around, having a door to separate us from the rest of the hostel was pleasant. There was a washing machine and a few toilets. The hostel has two issues. The location is a little out of the way from nevskiy's main drag. Google displays you a central location close to the metro stop. The actual address on your reservation specifies this address as a mistake. The hot water and shower lines had issues. There were already lines in the showers, and by the time we woke up every day, the hot water had run out. It appears that they are using a centrally heated water heater mounted in the kitchen rather than using a centrally heated water heater. If you want to know how hot your water will be, you can view the temperature displayed on the tank. The staff claimed they were experiencing issues with hot water as a result of pipe repairs, but who knows how long those repairs will take or how frequently they happen. If they fill up all of their water using the tank, the tank is not big enough for the number of beds they have.
