I was surprised this hotel was not full during our stay. It seemed a great value to me, and the decor featuring extensive wood carving was impressive. Of course we were there during the shoulder season in mid September so that may explain fewer guests. The room opened to the hotel back, so it was quiet. With the window open, you will hear the sounds of the nearby river, which helped me sleep. The room was clean and well-appointed, and the bed was good. The bathroom had a shower (no tub), with quality towels although I believe the towel warmer was not working, or maybe user error. The dinner menu included wild boar and deer cooked five different ways. Mine was excellent. Three of the four hotel staff we met spoke functional English and all were pleasant and helpful, especially “Yanni”. Motorcycle parking was safely behind the hotel and free. Overall, the hotel was a good value and quirky-unique. There is an astonishing trophy room, deer-antlered lighting, paintings, and displayed collections of butterflies and insects. Great attention to detail where animal motifs are concerned. I really liked it all. I would recommend the hotel leave more lights on. I am not used to corridor lighting on a timer where I have to find the switch in the dark at the top of the stairs. Other than that annoyance I recommend the hotel.

Hotel Diana provided exceptional service, warm and welcoming staff, an excellent room for the family, a game room and really delicious breakfast. Our three children were all very happy. The hotel met all of our needs and truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend. Beautiful area as well.

It was one night when my husband and I decided to cross the border and spend the night and found ourselves close to Slovakia. We had dinner and breakfast in the clean room with quiet and good vibes. We didn't use the spa. The staff was kind and helpful.

There are some great examples of the slovak traditional carvings in the decoration. The room was extraordinary. Jan and his son who run the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. The hunting decor is like a museum. As for the dining, I dare you to find better traditional and wild game dishes. The chef's presentation is far beyond anything I've ever seen before. The rates are also affordable. I will undoubtedly return. It is not air-conditioned, and the rooms facing the highway do hear traffic, but it's nothing like being in the city. The views from the restaurant and hotel are absolutely breathtaking. Mala Katra Park, Terchova, and the start of Bystricia clock tower are all only a few minutes away. Staying here will be easy. The manager speaks perfect English, but also available in slovak and Russian. The entire experience was simply incredible.

Overall, a great last-minute choice, we wouldn't think twice about returning to this hotel. We had planned a trip to Bratislava in Slovakia, and decided we wanted to visit the country for a few days, particularly near the brave area for the castle. We came across the hotel diana the night before our departure, and we were still searching for a location to stay. We reserved it after doing a lot of very quick research, and we are glad we did. The hotel exceeded all of our expectations, and the accommodations were incredible. We had reserved a standard double, but upon arrival, we were shown to a suite. It was very clean, roomy, nicely decorated, and exceptionally comfy. The hotel's wood paneling and carvings of hunting scenes were designed throughout, which was extremely interesting and distinct. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is delicious and well-presented. We ate in the eatery every night, I have never eaten more game! We sampled duck, venison, and reindeer. Presentation was satisfactory, and the meat was always cooked to perfection and served with perfect accompaniment. My favorite item was the wild boar medallions of wild game with rose hip sauce, however, the wild boar with apricots and walnuts was fantastic, according to my husband. The Hunting Hotel DANA belongs to the family hotel category, so expect excellent service and helpful and friendly staff. There was a lot of carving wood in the hotel's facilities, which perfectly complemented the hunting hotel style. We were staying in an apartment, which was roomy and clean, with a large bathroom. The hotel kitchen specialises in wild game dishes that are very tasty. A sizable lounge with pool tables, pings, and a library is on the top floor.
