A beautiful hotel that is so colorful and artsy—we loved it! The only negative is the bathroom. It just had a curtain to pull for privacy for the tub and sinks, which was strange and inconvenient when your spouse gets up in the middle of the night and doesn’t want to wake you. The bathroom also had a one foot gap in the wall, allowing any one who was standing at the door to the hallway to look in. Why do so many hotel bathrooms not have complete privacy with normal doors from the bedroom? Other than the bathroom issue the hotel is fabulous, the staff friendly and helpful, and the location safe and so fun with restaurants and shops just steps from the hotel.

Safety is of prime concern in South Africa, and African Pride is in an island of security in Melrose Arch along with a group of stores, a mall, and many restaurants. An easy drive to Rosebank Sunday Market and the Apartheid Museum. An hour to Maropeng and Prretoria. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the hotel very much, it was lovely inside and out. I especially enjoyed walking through the hotel doors and finding such a wonderful night life. There were many places to eat, and a live screen TV on the square made it fun to watch the soccer tournament in wide lounge chairs. Walking around the area was very entertaining as there were many sculptures and storefronts to check out. I would stay there again!

This trip was my 1st solo experience and I must say I had an amazing time. Mr. Dingaan made sure my trip went smoothly and took the extra mile to ensure I had the most amazing experience. Mr. Dingaan was an absolute delight and I'm very thankful our path encounter. He was the highlight of my trip. I can't thank him enough. Also, all the other hotel staff I encounter was very kind in helpful. From Ms. Pretty at the Front Desk, The waitress Tanya, and many more names I cant recall. I hope to visit again one day soon. I will refer this hotel to my friends and family who plans to visit South Africa in the near future.

This is still my favorite hotel to stay at in Johannesburg. I have been staying there since it opened multiple times per year. The staff is amazing. Service excellent. Rooms very comfortable. I do notice, however, that the hotel is in need of a little update, as it is showing a little wear. However, I already have my next reservation in.

Staff are always friendly, courteous and helpful. I would like to point out specific staff, but they are all incredibly professional. Sinethemba at the front desk and Jabulani in the waitstaff/restaurants were especially outstanding.
