Location was initially key. Easy half hour drive from the airport. Few min. walk to Table Mtn. Contour trails and 10 min. drive to Kirstenbosch Botanic Garden. Was clean and comfortable and proprietor was knowledgeable about Africa and the world. Would be my Cape Town base for travel in South Africa.

Only stayed for a quick visit but it was great. Owner was very friendly and accommodating with a very early check out. Beautiful property with great views. Will 100% stay here again!

Overall the place is very good, as well as the decoration and furnishings. It was nice to have the hostess, and they gave us a decent breakfast. However, the coffee maker in our room was not available, so we didn't expect to share it with anyone. Parking is only available to one guest, and you had to request a glass of water.

I stayed at pinewood for a couple of days before leaving to explore another part of Cape Town before finally returning for the rest of my trip. I saw no reason to stay somewhere else. A 5 minute walk will get you to Table Mountain National Park, the best pub in Cape Town is around the corner, an uber to the constant wineyards for 75 rand, or you can get to the city for the same price. Kelvin, the owner, will assist you with your day planning if necessary and is always on hand to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Hes also good company over a beer or five.

We had a wonderful time in Pinewood Guesthouse for six nights. Kelvin was incredibly kind and hospitable. He took the time each evening to ask how our day had been and offered us terrific suggestions for activities to do the following day. Although we werent able to eat breakfast every day, the breakfast was lovely when we did. The personnel was also very kind and made us feel at home. The room itself was clean and cozy, with a huge bathroom and a lovely outdoor terrace. We had a great time and will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Cape Town.

We had a wonderful sixnight vacation at Pinewood Guesthouse. Kelvin was incredibly kind and friendly. He took the time each night to inquire about how our day had been and offered us some excellent advice for the following day. Even though we were unable to enjoy breakfast each day, it was wonderful the next day. The staff was also very kind and made us feel at ease. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a spacious bathroom and an adorable outdoor terrace. We had a great time and will be back the next time we visit Cape Town.

We stayed here for one night and were welcomed by the very friendly owner. We really liked the nice room with all the facilities and the soft mantras were a great plus after sleeping three nights on hard mantras. A very nice pub where you can have delicious lunch and dinner. I definitely recommend this place.
