The owner of the home was incredibly hospitable and what's some might perceive as abrasive was just him being really helpful and wanting his guests to experience the area as he's obviously very passionate about where he lives in the history surrounding it, which it is very rich in. My friend and I loved our experience here, and we felt really safe. The one thing to be mindful of is given is traditional Korean house, there is not a lot of sound insulation but fortunately for our stay the other guests were really respectful and mindful of their noise level. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be in a more traditional environment and be welcomed as family and not a sterile hotel environment. The location was really beautiful too and we spent the whole day walking around, it was a beautiful evening walk along the river to get back. Also very convenient for buses.

Hanokスタイルを初めて体験したので、他と比較はできませんが、とてもアットホームで雰囲気も温かい宿でした。ご夫婦で経営されていて、ベッドカバーなどが手作りで可愛らしかったです。また、客室だけでなく、お茶と談話ができるお部屋やキッチン、また屋根の上で朝食も頂けて落ち着ける場所でした。私たちは一泊しかできませんでしたが、きっと長期滞在してもいいなじゃないかなと思いました。場所も中心部に近くて、徒歩で移動できながらも静かでよかったです。おじさんがかなり面白くて、友達と笑っちゃいました。とーってもお世話好きな様子が伝わってきました。英語が達者で、ちょっと遅く到着した私達に日暮前や夜景見にどこに行ったら良いとか、次の日の石窟庵と仏国寺に行くタクシーを手配してくれたり、時間の心配や段取りの細かいところまで張り切って仕切ってくれました。放っておいて欲しいタイプの人はホテルの方がいいと思いますが、私と友達にとっては韓国の情の厚さと温かさに触れる良い機会でした。奥さんは物静かで温かい人でした。タクシーの運転手さんもおじさんのお友達なのか、この方もめちゃくちゃ親切で優しい方でした。シャワーについては、アジアで時々あるトイレと一体型なので慣れていない人は戸惑うかも知れませんが、シャワー自体は新しく熱いお湯が勢いよく快適でした。床も意外にも早く乾きました。事前にチャットのやり取りで到着時間は正確に教えて上げると良いです。私は到着時間が遅れることをきちんと伝えたりコミュニケーションをちゃんと取っていたので、喜んでくれていたと思います。

경주박물관 바로 근처라 박물관 이용하기 편리합니다. 불국사나 황리단길 가는 버스가 숙소 바로 근처에 있어서 이동하기 편리해요. 주요 역사 유적지 ㅡ 첨성대 동궁과 월지 월정교까지 모두 걸어다녔는데 걷기 좋아하는 사람은 아주 좋은 위치입니다. 위험하지도 않고 길도 좋습니다. 동궁과 월지가 재일 가깝고 첨성대까지도 걸을만 하고. 저는 사실 숙소에서 버스타고 황리단 서라벌사거리에내려서 거기서부터 황리단 길 구석구석, 대릉원 천마총, 첨성대 교촌마을 월정교까지 갔다가 동궁과 월지까지 그리고 숙소까지 다 하루에 걸어다녔는데 걷기 힘든 분들도 동궁과 월지, 첨성대 정도까진 충분히 걸을만한 거리일 듯해요. 사장님 내외분이 무척 부지런하셔서 매우 깔끔합니다. 건넌방에 묵었는데 단독화장실이지만 마당 나가서 별도로 있어서 좀 불편합니다. 비오고 추운 날엔 많이 불편하니 감안하세요. 직접 다 만드신 광목침구에 실내슬리퍼, 매트 인형까지, 비치해주시는 치솔 샴푸 어느하나 대충 하지 않고 세심히 정성들인 흔적이 보여요. 좋은 녹차 우엉차 등 차잎과 다기들도 마련되어 있고, 키친도 아주 깔끔해요. 아침식사까지 제공해 주셔서 감사했는데 너무 이른시간 방마다 문 두드려 깨워주시는 건 좀 힘들었습니다. 하지만 매우매우 만족스러운 숙소였고 감사한 마음으로 후기 남겨요!♡

A genuine hanok stay. It isn’t a hotel so it’s gonna be different than the conventional expectations. You feel like you’re in a very Korean old timey home. And the hosts were super friendly

My family and I had a WONDERFUL stay at Yettle Hanok. Jung and his wife were lovely hosts who welcomed us, showed us a map so we could get our bearings and even offered suggested activities for the day so that we would be able to experience all the sights and experiences. We rented the entire home and found it be spacious, comfortable and clean. It was such a unique experience to stay in a traditional hanok-style home. The home is walking distance to the Gyeongju National Museum and a bus stop with buses that will take you right into town. My family loved every minute of our stay and are so grateful for the hospitality and warmth of our hosts!

We enjoyed our stay at the Yettle Hanok. Our host was very friendly and helpful. He communicated with us prior to our visit on how to get there, which was extremely helpful. Upon arrival he provided us with a map and overview of Gyeongju. The hanok is conveniently located across the street from the museum and is easy walking to the village. There is a bus stop close by with buses that can take you to main historical sites around Gyeongju. Our host brought us a nice little breakfast with coffee to our room each morning, and he arranged taxi pick up for us when we departed. I recommend staying at this hanok to experience a traditional Korean home during your stay.

Host was wonderful and gave us a map and layout of the town. We had access to a patio and rooftop. Even though breakfast was not included, he gave us bananas, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bread and coffee. I highly recommend staying there for a unique hanok experience.

Our stay here was lovely. The owner was kind and incredibly helpful — he gave us a map and directions on the best ways to see all the sights we were interested in. The rooms were spotless and the beds had heating pads, which were so cozy, as we were traveling in the fall and it was getting cool. All around a great stay — highly recommend for anyone looking for a more authentic experience unlike those you get at a regular hotel.

It is a classic Hanok Style House with 5 bedrooms. 4 of them have connecting bathrooms, whereas the small single person does not. I had to walk out into the courtyard, only about 15 feet away, to use my own bathroom, but it was for my own use and it was clean. It is a beautiful home and the owners, who live nearby are so friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was comfortable with a good temperature. It was clean and exactly as you’d expect a traditional style of bedroom to be. The mattress is on the floor but it has heating and was pretty thick and comfy. They provided a small but good breakfast in the morning and have a small kitchen with refrigerator for guest convenience as well as a separate tea room. It was an enjoyable stay and I would stay again if I’m ever back in Gyeongju!

The overall stay was pleasant - the property is a traditional hanok house that is more than a 100 years old, run by an enthusiastic host. There aren’t convenience stores around the lodge but there are plenty in Gyeongju city so just buy some drinks and snacks to bring back and eat at the lodge if you want. There are house rules that applies to all guests for efficient management of the hanok house. The host generously provides free breakfast (this free breakfast may or may not continue in the future) at 8AM sharp for every guest in the lodge. He knocks fairly loudly on the door - for sensitive sleepers this may be a bit alarming. The hosts also clean the hanok house every day and ventilates the house for maintenance by leaving the doors of all the guest rooms open. I believe they do this so they can clean up any mess some guests may have left behind which could impact the condition of the old hanok. This lodge also has a concrete check out time and I don’t think they offer luggage keeping once you check out - but there’s plenty luggage holding facilities in Gyeongju area near the hwanglidangil. This is a traditional and interesting place to stay - reminiscent to how older korean generations lived in hanok like this. The way of operation is different but if you’re the type of traveller that pop out in the morning to explore the area and return in the evening, you won’t have problems.

Our stay was wonderful. The property is lovely to stay at and comfortable. We enjoyed talking with the host about the best way to spend our time in gyeongju. He brought us a delicious simple breakfast, which was great because it has been challenging to find places open in the early hours.
