The rooms were above a restaurant and bar in a very old building. We had a very friendly welcome and we were able to eat a 3 course lunch when we arrived as we were hungry after walking. The room was lovely and large and the bathroom had a great shower. It was easy to find and the hotel was able to accommodate our luggage transfer. The hotel is right on the Camino path.

Extremely friendly. I arrived there a bit after hours while doing the Camino De Santiago and I was welcomed with an after hours meal and a smile. Just what a tired traveler needs at the end of a long journey. The place is excellently located, and the room very comfortable. Thank you.

This spot is my favorite of the 17 hotelspensionshostels I have stayed in so far while walking the camino. It's right on the camino when you enter Castrojeriz, which is located in an lovely older building that was renovated a few years ago. You enter through the bar, where the proprietorbarman checks you in. There is a dormitory and private rooms, and I had one of the latter. It was on the first floor and very big compared to rooms in many other hotels. Twin beds, a closet, and a few drawers. The bathroom was small but had a good size shower cubicle. The only thing I didn't like about my stay was the very slippery surface in the shower which made me feel a bit like bambi on ice. wifi was good. The proprietors were such nice people. Helpful and fun. I had the pilgrims meal in the evening, which was ample and good. The bar seemed to be a gathering place for the locals, which was nice to see with so many other places closed or deserted. The proprietors were up again by 7.30 am to make coffee for those of us who needed a boost before setting out on the way. This place is good enough to be a destination in and I would consider returning for noncamino trips.

I stayed here as part of my santiago camino. A truly excellent location with a wonderful owner. Always accommodating and eager to answer questions about the area. The town is so rich in history. Bathroom in Albargue bunk room gets 1010 compared to others in the camino.

I've had many pleasant encounters with a charming host named Ferdinand. We stayed in a private room with a breathtaking view, had drinks in a small bar with locals in the afternoon, and had dinner in a comfortable restaurant. Ferdinand shared some fascinating information about the restoration of the site, and the walls have a wealth of pictures of before and after. Our time here was wonderful.
