It works well with big rooms and bathrooms for a Camino Walkers hotel. The bed is a bit tired but the condition is acceptable. The bar downstairs is laid-back and fine and the staff is all fine. The biggest shame is the food, the owner manager boasts about the best food in Austria but in no way he will push hard to give you the set menu, not even if we just arrived. Breakfast was included but it was deplorable.

I stayed here for two nights while walking the Camino Subsequential and it remains one of the worst locations we stayed on our journey. We remained the second night because we walked to La Mesa and were told there was no accommodation there and so we returned to pole for the night. We learned from a couple we met along the road that there is a brand new pensionaubergue in La Mesa that they rated highly. The room wasnt bad, very dated, and a bit shabby, but the shower cubicle was ridiculously small. A contortionist would be proud of the manoeuvres required to wash ones feet. Central heating comes on and off at specified times. The weather was cold and wet few degrees above freezing. After a relatively tough 20 km hike through the mountains back to the hotel in the late afternoon, my room was ice cold. Awful. The only redeeming feature is the restaurant. The host was charming, funny, and attentive, and the food on pilgrims menu was nutritious, hot, delicious, and interesting.

After an epic day on the hospitals route Torres to Las Mesa, a taxi arranged to transport me back to pole for the night. Nueva Allandesa is not a luxury hotel, but it functions well for a two-star hotel. The rooms are dated, but clean. The breakfast was sufficient for my needs. This hotel does not purported to be the climax, but it filled a need while on the camino.
