La Casa appears to be the only hotel in San Rafael. Before and after the wedding of two of our neighbors, we remained at the hotel for two nights. If I had the option to rate the hotel as excellent, somewhere between very good and average, this would be what I would choose. The extensive green space surrounding the hotel, which was found in a rather bland building from the Franco era, was perhaps the nicest aspect of it. It contained a small bar, a children's play area, a small pool, and lots of green space where children could run around. The hotel itself was fairly average. The rooms were decent, but a little worn, and our double room was on the smaller side. The breakfast in the huge restaurant area was not too terrible, but it wasn't the type of breakfast that gave you a smile in the morning. Overall, if you must stay in San Rafael, there is no reason not to stay at La Casa as long as you don't have too much and don't anticipate being overwhelmed.

We arrived at 9.30 am at night and were unable to reach it. We called, but the chap didn't speak English, and we have no English skills. Using application, we made our reservation, but my husband was able to converse with another French-speaking colleague, which worked out perfectly. We were allowed into our rooms after passing the security gate, which was excellent. When we arrived or left at a particular time, reception was not open. The wifi was excellent, and the beds were comfortable. An excellent value, but be cautious if you speak only English.
