I spent six nights in a quiet, cozy room on the second story of the building at the Pension Canasta. I liked the complimentary bottled water, which was fast and reliable WiFi. The location was great, about halfway between Zaragozas strain terminal and Cisco Vijo. But, I was uneasy about the dark stairs and corridors in the building. In addition, 12 small desk lamps could be placed on either side of the bed in the room. There is no other light in the room, which is too weak to read by, and just a weak ceiling light. Where are the desk lamps? There are two power outlets on either side of the bed, two end tables, and two end tables on either side of the bed.

I stayed at Canasta for 2 nights during my visit to Zaragoza. The pension is very comfortable and clean and the price is very low. It's on the first floor but there are 2 elevators in the building. It's close to the aljaferia and about 1520 minutes from the city centre. The staff was very friendly, but they didn't speak any Spanish so I had to speak in terrible Spanish. Also, because the walls are so thin, I would suggest asking for a room away from the bathroom as you can hear people banging doors all day and night from those who enter. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap and comfortable place to stay with no extras, canasta is a good choice.
