Even for a hostel, this location falls short in several respects. Although there is a fridge to use by visitors, there is no communal kitchen for cooking or even access to plates, etc. The included breakfast contains bread but no toaster, only two cereals, and I had to request cold milk. The location was supposed to have wifi, but it didn't work throughout the building or on the hostel's computer. The other issue is that the reception is only attended for a few hours each morning, after which the hostel door is left open all afternoonevening, directly onto the street, so anyone can walk in unimpeded. That being said, it appeared to be a reasonably safe area, and there is a bar downstairs, whose staff can help you if there is a problem, and everyone we dealt with was friendly. Its main advantages include that it was clean but sterile in feel, very quiet at night despite having a window onto the main street, and it is not in a particularly charming area of town, it's only a 5 minute walk to the main bars and less than 10 minutes to the seafront. You would expect basic from a youth hostel, but this was way too basic, and the cost was the same as anywhere else, roughly 23 euros per person for a bunk bed.

That being said, it seemed like a fairly safe area, there is a bar downstairs whose staff can help you if there is a problem, and everyone we dealt with was nice.
