I can’t start explainig how amazing were the three days we spent in Clive Garden. We spent 10 days travelling around the island and we wanted to finish the trip in a quiet place. We could not have chosen a better place. The hotel is amazing, the staff is always taking care of you and very friendly. The beach was empty, we spent the three days with long walks and enjoying the sunshine! The only thing that I would say to improve is that the first day we were only offered a very short menu with only pasta or rice. That was changed for the other two days so that was good but perhaps it should be clear since the beginning that you have other options. Last night they prepared for us an amazing fish that we enjoyed while watching the sunset, truly amazing :) Our room was perfect, and the private pool was very refreshing for the very hot hours that you can’t be on the sun. We will definitely come back!

It is a very high quality hotel comprising Bungalows, with huge beds, large flat screen TV with BBC News channel, fridge, safe deposit box, coffee making machine. Some Bungalows have a LARGE private internal jacuzzi, plunge pool. Others an outside, but not visible to others, plunge pool. There is a restaurant with food cooked to order and next door is a small beach cafe. Beers are around £2 a pint in either. (2019) This is a quiet place immediately on the beach. You can eat breakfast under an open sided gazebo right overlooking the beach and watch local fishermen haul in their catch. This is a beautiful, natural place with very few tourists, but everyone is friendly and helpful and if you want to enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beautiful beaches and endulge yourself with luxury facilities this is the place for you. The swimming pool is 25 meters long and there is a shallow pool for little children. The entire place is immaculate. Of course you can arrange trips as well. Or walk into the local village of Wadduwa where there are ATM’s and a railway station. One of the nicest places I have stayed and excellent value for money

The perfect spot for a quick relaxing get-away. This intimate hotel (10 or 12 rooms) has good-sized room with a king bed and a twin bed futon chair. The service was very personalized with our meals delivered to our room at our request. There is a nice lawn with good soft grass and a long pool with an attached kids pool also. But the best part was our own private pool, with a roof, so we could keep swimming even during the downpours of the rainy season (my only complaint, which is very minor, is that I would have liked brighter lighting in the private pool). As the name indicates, it's very garden-like with each room set back from the central walkway by a lovely garden area. Less than 90 minutes from central Colombo, I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway. Most or all of the rooms have private pools, some an indoor square pool about 2.5 feet deep, perfect for kids, and with jacuzzi jets against the wall with the bench, and some an outdoor round pool with jacuzzi jets. Seemed very new. Nice menu with items like a watermelon prawn salad, tuna steaks, pasta dishes and local curries. I plan to go again.

I really liked my stay at Clive Garden Wadduwa. The service from Tharindu was great and the good food from Chef Lair was incredible.

We really enjoyed our vacation with our kids. We really love the villa, staff and food. Beautiful pool setting near the beach. Kids were well entertained with all the games and activities provided. We appreciate all the hospitality you gave us thank you. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday. We will definitely return.

We paid cash to go to clive garden in January 2019. The staff was friendly and helpful. They served us the best service they could have a supper on the beach at a reasonable price and a farewell meal with local cuisine throughout our stay. The owner was very present and invited us on trips to see what the area had to offer. There are so many things to do and see. We rented a motorcycle to see more of this amazing nation. The three of us went out on a motorcycle in the country. There are things that are done differently in sri lanka than in Denmark/Denmark Europe, but we enjoyed these differences and accepted that things might not have to go as fast as we used to even though it's vacation. What we encountered at the clive hotel was a genuine interest in our stay and how they could improve as a company. This hotel is close to the beach and is not separated from it by a busy road unlike the majority of the more affordable resorts in Sri Lanka. Wonderful opportunities to unwind by the pool while taking in the sea breeze and a cool wave while enjoying the sea views and waves. There is ample space to make you feel at ease right away, but your kids can play and have fun without being disturbed. A gym with a pool table, air hockey, and table tennis, and an ayurweda spa with a nice massage are available. The staff is lovely, cordial, real, and attentive, and the proprietor speaks English, so we were very much impressed with the facilities, such as hot milk for your coffee and delicious cuisine. Keep in mind to book modernized accommodations, as the traditional family rooms are not up to par and a little moldy. Nevertheless, they are fine for a couple of nights. The neighborhood is genuine and undeveloped. A supermarket Carmilla food city is just a short distance away, and on the way, locals will cheer and wave, and you might encounter a cow or two. Would love to return.

It was a pleasant experience to stay at the Clive garden, a very private and customary hotel in a calm and very nice location. The room is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The pool is amazing, located in a lovely garden and near the beach. The staff is very caring and cheerful and can provide good advice and services for outdoor activities, taxis, shopping, etc. It is a very nice experience to stay in this place.
