Great hotel in a beautiful location. We only stayed one night, but could have stayed longer. The pools looked fantastic and well cleaned. We had an excellent meal, and then played pool on the table next to the bar! The hotel is trying hard to be eco, and we had a very interesting bathroom surrounded by plants in the shower, and an open air roof - covered by mesh to stop anything nasty getting in! We watched a fantastic sunset whilst drinking cocktails. Very memorable. Staff were lovely.

コテージレイクビューの部屋に一泊しました。部屋から見える湖がとても美しくて、感動しました。ベッドに寝転びながら、ずっと外の景色を楽しみました。部屋はとても清潔で快適です。お風呂にはシャワーだけじゃなく、大きな浴槽もありました。お風呂場の天井は金網になっており、まるで露天風呂に入っているような気分でした。金網から、虫が入ってこないか心配でしたが、大丈夫でした。部屋の中でヤモリを見ましたが、金網からではなく、別の隙間から入ってきたと思います。ヤモリは縁起の良い益獣と聞くので、逆に見られてラッキーな気持ちになりました。蟻は沢山いましたが、スリランカのホテルでは、よく見る光景なので気になりません。レストランは朝食のみ利用しましたが、味は普通です。エッグステーションで作ってもらったオムレツは、ちょうど良い味付けで、とても美味しかったです。一つだけ気になる点を上げるとすると、部屋のウッドデッキは、ホテル内の道と繋がっているため、デッキを横切る人が何人かいました。セキュリティ的にちょっと不安がありましたし、通行人と目が合うと恥ずかしかったです（笑）プライベートな空間として、通れないようにした方がいいかもしれませんね。

Having just spent 5 nights at this hotel we can definitely recommend it. It was ideally placed for our self organised tour of Sri Lanka and, from here, we visited the iconic sites of Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla and the fabulous Hurulu national park where we saw many elephants. Our lakeside cottage at the hotel was very quaint and we loved sitting on the decking watching the monkeys and chipmunks running around. Staff at the hotel are very welcoming and the pool area is lovely. The hotel does get frequented by coach parties and we enjoyed the breakfast and evening buffets alongside quieter a la carte dinners on the outside terrace on the nights when there were fewer guests

Staff were friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The location itself was serene with a wonderful view of the lake from the observation deck. Food was amazing with a wide choice of both local and international cuisine.

The hotel is set amongst trees and lawns over looking the lake at Giratale. We had a lovely big room next to the pool. Many of the rooms are high up on the hill. There was a tree growing in the semi open air bathroom. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Roy the manager was more than helpful in organising tours to ancient cities and the elephant safari. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

Ontzettend genoten tijdens het verblijf in Deer Park (gezin met 4 kids). Erg goed diner (buffet) en ontbijt. Prima kamers. Heerlijk zwembad. Ligt erg mooi maar wat achteraf. Maar 1 nacht daar verbleven en weet niet wat de mogelijkheden (restaurants) buiten de accommodatie zijn. Uitzicht op het meer.

I think Deer Park can easily qualify as one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. Great property and well maintained. Lovely view and cottages. You will need a car to get there and a short drive away to the city.

A warm and professional welcome at the reception. Same quality service throughout our stay. Our room was beautifully and comfortably decorated, the funky shower was a nice surprise. I recommend the spa and the masseur there. This hotel is near both to Polonnaruwa and the Eco park where most elephants could be found after a rainy period. many local safari guides chose this park over Minneriya in season.

Attractive lay-out, attentive service, 'cool' bathroom, generally comfortable and smooth running; bar food and drink at night on the terrace, buffet breakfast and the outdoor swimming pools especially good. The food was real food (local fruit yummy!) and the staff were very helpful and always kind. The price and location are right for above average but not extravagant hotelling - just right for us. This is not hotel on the lake, as it may appear from pics, while some deluxe bungalos overview the lake over local road. This is real hotel in the jungles, very natural and nice! Good design, good management, good food - buffet when a lot of visitors, and ala carte in more intimate moments. You ll need driver and car to travell around, its very reliale and cost about 120$... Car from/to Colombo was 160$ for us (7 hours).. 2-3 days needed to see all places around!
